April, 13th 2014, The Secretary of Risk Management Declares Quininde in Emergency Due To Severe Winter Floods
According to the first assessment reports, could be identified; 183 affected families, 35
houses affected and 40 destroyed, interruption of the electric fluid and destruction of
water pipes.
Risk management secretary and MIES made donations to the population; 200 food kits,
19 boxes of fortified biscuits and 100 gallons of water.
The mayor of the province of Esmeraldas with the national police, military and
firefighters have begun cleanups on roads and reconstruction of some homes.
In conclusion, it is good to know that in these types of emergencies, the relief
institutions have been working together for the welfare of the population, is expected
that the state permanently help these populations who lack; basic services, improve
roads, improve water quality, so on.

In Quininde begins Esmeraldas river. It is a result of combination between Blanco and
Quinide rivers.

Coordinate actions among institutions relief, Risk Management Secretary, mayoralty
and state, to face the emergency.

Cleaning and rebuilding homes, roads and more affected areas.
Conclutions
The state must implement and improve; health centers, schools, rescue units, secure
sites, drinking water, so on.
Do retaining walls near the river to avoid when water level rises by rains, this does not
overflow at high speed towards the community.
Training people about risks of having to live in high-risk sites.
