Xsheet Tip PDF
XSHEET Command
Use the XSHEET command if you have surfaces (or DTMs) in Terramodel and wish to cut
cross section sheets.
You will need:
1. Horizontal Alignment (HAL) in the Plan view.
2. Xlines or cross section locations along the HAL.
3. At least one DTM (layer with 3D points).

26. Click on Axis Labels. This is where the labels around the cross sections are set.

Vertical Tick/Label Interval - this is the distance between the elevation labels. 1" is usually a good setting.
Set the Left Vertical Axis settings.
Set the Right Vertical Axis settings.
Set the Bottom Horizontal Axis settings.
Horizontal Tick/Label Interval - this is the distance between the bottom axis labels. 1" is usually a good setting.

27. Click on Station Label if you want the station labeled for each section.

30. In the Xsheet settings, check Overwrite ALL other XS Sheets for alignment. This will allow you to change the settings
and recreate the cross sections.
31. Close the Xsheet settings.
32. Click OK to the XSHEET command along the bottom of the screen.
33. You should see a list of DTM layers. These are layers that have been previously linked in Terramodel.
NOTE: If you do not see the layer you wish to cut cross sections on in the list, you will have to get out of the
XSHEET command and link the layer with one of the following commands: DTM/Spot elevation or
DTM/Quick profile or DTM/Generate contours after running one of these commands on the DTM layer, the
DTM layer will be listed in the XSHEET command.
34. Once the layer or layers are selected for the cross sections, click OK.

35. The cross section sheets will be created in the Sheet view. Select the Window menu, then Sheet. If you don't like the
look of the sections, run XSHEET again and change the settings.
Note: When you create cross sections using the XSHEET command, the real cross sections are stored in the XSECT view and
dynaviews are created in the SHEET view. If you wish to manually change a cross section, do so in the XSECT view. Any
changes to the sections will be displayed in the dynaviews in the SHEET view.
