TESTING THE SERVICE BRAKES

1. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING.


2. APPLY THE SERVICE BRAKES BY
FULLY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL.
3. RELEASE THE PARK BRAKE.
4. PLACE THE TRANSMISSION SELECTOR
IN SECOND GEAR.
5. TURN THE BRAKE TEST SWITCH LIFT
TO POSITION 1.HOLD THE TEST SWITCH IN
THE ROTATED POSITION FOR THE DURATION
OF THE TEST OF THE PARKING BRAKE SOLENOID #1.
6. SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION TO FORWARD
OR REVERSE CHOOSE THE SAFEST DIRECTION.
7. SLOWLY PRESS THE THROTTLE PEDAL TO
THE SERVICE BRAKE VALVE MUST PREVENT
THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING UNDER FULL
THROTTLE FOR THE DURATION OF 4 SECONDS.
8. REDUCE THROTTLE AND RELEASE TEST SWITCH.
9. TURN THE BRAKE TEST SWITCH TO POSITION 2
AND HOLD IN POSITION FOR THE DURATION OF THE
TEST PARKING BRAKE SOLENOID #2.
10 REPEAT STEPS 6,7, AND 8.
IMPORTANT: IF THE BRAKES FAIL TO KEEP THE
VEHICLE STATIONARY DURING THE TEST PROCEDURE,
SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND CALL MAINTENANCE.

REVERSE CHOOSE THE SAFEST DIRECTION.
5. SLOWLY PRESS THE THROTTLE PEDAL TO THE
FLOOR. THE PARK BRAKE SOLENOID MUST
PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING UNDER
FULL THROTTLE FOR TH DURATION OF 4 SECONDS.

7. TURN THE BRAKE TEST SWITCH TO POSITION 2
AND HOLD IN POSITION FOR THE DURATION OF THE
TEST OF PARKING BRAKE SOLENOID #2.

IMPORTANT: IF THE BRAKES FAIL TO KEEP THE
VEHICLE STATIONARY DURING THE TEST PROCEDURE,
SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND CALL MAINTENANCE.
