Designing a website

Task: Design a personal website- creating an
autobiography.
Your Project MUST Include:

A completed website
Must have:
o Timeline of life
o Family tree (or creative list of family members
o Earliest memory
o Description of self
o Pictures: family, self, friends
o List of favorites
o Skills and talents
o Future plans/ goals for your life
o Something/someone of which you are proud
o Wishes and dreams
o Heritage/ethnicity
o Graphics

A presentation (slide show, video, live presentation, etc.) on your own or as a


group (maximum four members). Maximum presentation time is five minutes.

Your Project MAY Include:

Can include the following: unique facts, something/someone of which you are
proud and why, most embarrassing moment(s), Adventures and/or journeys,
Religion, spirituality, greatest achievements, Craziest things youve done, etc.
Other creative elements that are not listed above.

Your Project SHOULD NOT Include:

Any copied text or images without their original sources listed.

Assessment:

You will be marked on the following (20 points):

(2 points) Presentation: Student has communicated in a persuasive and
engaging manner.
(3 points) Creative aspect: Student created a visual autobiography
(3 points) Organization of website

Steps:
1. Play around on the weebly program, become familiar with the components.
2. Brainstorm ideas for what you would like to include on a piece of lined paper
or in a word processor- including pictures
3. Plan out the order of your website
4. Collect materials from home- scan at home if you have scanner (or bring to
your teacher to help)
5. Begin designing your website
o Refer back to your assignment and rubric to ensure youve completed
everything
6. Rehearse your presentation
