Now Hear This! – Teaching listening

As we did in teaching reading, we talked about what we listen to in real life and in an English
classroom. We complete a map for those. Moreover, we said if the closer to life the listening is in the
classsrooms, the better for students to learn it will be. As mentioned in teaching reading, pre, while
and post activities are also necessary for teaching listening. We discussed about some listening
activities and listening strategies for these three stages. It is very important to motivate students and
to give them a reason for the class, whatevet it is. Therefore, pre stage is more important than the
others. There are lots of reason why we need pre stage, but there is one thing that if you want to
start lesson all hands up, you should take efficient time on pre stage…
