Make 1% Solution With Alkaline /Acid With Proper Agitation required For UF Cleaning. UF Membrene Is Hollow Fiber Membrane with Counter Current Flow In Service . UF problem Indication ( In Service ) :-Some problem may have come in UF Operation:--

1) Increase feed pressure . 2) Increase DP . 3) Permeate Flow getting Less . When this problem occurs UF Cleaning must do with proper Cleaning Procedure. Remind in service mode feed Water flows Outside of membrane layer & Permeate Inside the membrane wherever in Cleaning is Opposite.
The typical molecular weight cut off (M.W.C.O.) of Ultra Filtration membranes ranges from 1,000 to 1,00,000 daltons. Because of its larger pore size, it does not reject dissolved salts but removes colloidal solids such as silica, iron and some T. O. C. contaminants. UF Membranes also have a wide range of pH and temperature tolerance and are easily backwash able, to avoid membrane fouling.

Mainly UF remove colloidal Silica , TSS ,Bio-Fouling ( Very much ) . So CEB dosing in 30 min. Service Cycle is must for UF . CEB Dosing Chemical :-1) Acid ( 5% Solution Where BOD & COD exceed its design Limit. ) 2) Hypo Chlorides ( 5 % Solution where Chlorine demand exceed its residual )

3) Pls do not mix caustic with NaOCL , because It can be effect on membrane

Cleaning Procedure :-1) Make 1% soluction of Alkaline & feed to UF membrane . a) Circulation -30 Min. b) Soaking30 min. c) Drain the Soluction . 2) Make 1% soluction of alkaline Again ( If BOD is high,then proceed this step) a) Circulation 20 Min. b) Soaking20 Min. c) Drain it 3) Then proper permeate Water Flushing until PH getting Normal. 4) Make 1% Soluction with Acidic . a) Circulation -30 Min. b) Soaking-45 Min. c) Drain & Flush properly because Acid remove dead Algae from Surface of Membrane thoroughly ) 5) Make 1% Soluction with Acidic . ( Urgent This Step for UF ) a) Circulatin 30 Min. b) Soaking 30 Min. c) Circulation 10 Min. d) Drain it from UF drain Line ( Not from Cleaning tank Drain Line ) .

Remind it that UF System is operating in Auto mode . During Cleaning time all Valve should be in manual mode & Cleaning pressure ought to Be design limit . UF Cleaning mainly done through Back-Flush & FastFlush Pump . Cleaning Chemical Of Thermax use for UF Cleaning:1) Maxtreat 9206 ,9311 ( Liquid Alkaline ) 2) Maxtreat 9822 , Cytric Acid ( Solid Acid ).

RO Cleaning Chemical :-1) Maxtreat 9206 ( Liquid Alkaline ) 2) MAxtreat9822 ( Acidic ).
