ALL ENLISTED Place the bottom of the branch insignia disk (approximately 1 inch for males and 5/8 for females) above the notch, centered on the left collar with the centerline of the insignia parallel to the inside edge of the lapel. Place the U.S. insignia disk on the right collar in the same position. ALL SOLDIERS Center marksmanship badges on the pocket flap 1/8 inch (males) below the seam and 1/4 inch below the ribbons (females). If more than one badge is worn, space them 1 inch apart. When special skill badges are worn place them to the right of marksmanship badges. ALL SOLDIERS Coat sleeve ornamentation enlisted (both males and females). Enlisted personnel have a 1/8 soutache braid of goldcolored nylon or rayon on each sleeve. ALL OFFICERS Place the U.S. insignia 5/8 inch above the notch on both collars, with the centerline of the insignia bisecting the notch and parallel to the inside edge of the lapel. ALL OFFICERS Shoulder straps for officers Males - The shoulder straps are 1 5/8 inches wide and 4 inches long Females officers The shoulder straps are 1 5/8 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches long On each shoulder, the shoulder strap is sewn, snapped, or hooked to the coat of the Blue Army Service Uniform, centered lengthwise on the outside shoulder seam. ALL OFFICERS Center branch insignia on both lapels 1 1/4 inches below the U.S. insignia, with the centerline of the insignia bisecting the U.S. insignia and parallel to the inside edge of the lapel. MALE OFFICERS Coat sleeve ornamentation officers-Ornamental braid is worn on both sleeves of the ASU coat. Gold bullion, synthetic metallic gold, or gold-colored nylon or rayon braid is authorized for officers. For all officers, each sleeve has a 34-inch braid consisting of two, 14-inch gold braids placed 14 inch apart on silk material, of the first-named color of their basic branch. ALL SOLDIERS When combat and special skill badges are worn, center them 1/4 inch above the ribbons. When more than one badge is worn above the ribbons, badges will be stacked 1/2 inch apart and may be aligned to the left to present a better appearance. ALL MALES Full size medals males wear full-size medals immediately above the left breast pocket, in as many rows as necessary. Full size medals will not overlap within a row. Center ribbons 1/8 inch above the top of the pocket flap. Third and subsequent rows may be aligned to the left to present a better appearance. ALL FEMALES Center the regimental crest 1/2 inch above the nameplate or 1/4 inch above unit awards and foreign badges, if worn. ALL FEMALES Center the nameplate horizontally on the right side between 1 and 2 inches above the top button. Adjust placement of the nameplate to conform to individual figure differences. FEMALE OFFICERS Coat sleeve ornamentation officers-Ornamental braid is worn on both sleeves of the ASU coat. Wear the crest 1/4 inch above unit awards and foreign badges, if worn. ALL FEMALES Center ribbons on the left side with the bottom row parallel to the bottom edge of the nameplate. Third and subsequent rows may be aligned to the left to present a better appearance. ALL SOLDIERS Combat Service Identification Badge (CSIB) (New item to be worn when available) The CSIB will be worn when available in place of the SSI-FWTS on the ASU. The CSIB will be worn center on the wearers right breast pocket of the ASU coat for male Soldiers; female Soldiers wear the CSIB on the right side parallel to the waistline on the ASU coat. The CSIB is ranked fifth in order of precedence below Presidential, Vice Presidential, Secretary of Defense and Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badges. The CSIB can also be worn on the shirt when wearing the Class B versions of the ASU. ALL FEMALES Black service pumps may be worn. The pumps will be plain, with closed toe and heel. The heel will be between 1/2 and 3 inches high. The moisture wicking tan t-shirt or cotton t-shirt is worn underneath the coat and is tucked inside the trousers at all times. Army chaplaincy religious denomination pin on insignia is the only branch insignia authorized on the ACU. It is worn 1/8 inch above and centered on the nametape. The U.S. flag insignia is worn on the right shoulder pocket flap of the ACU coat. The former wartime service shoulder sleeve insignia is centered on the hook and loopfaced pad on the right sleeve of the ACU coat. Name and U.S. Army tapes are 5 inches long and are worn immediately above and parallel with the top of the slanted chest pocket flaps. The background can be either olive green or the universal camouflage pattern. A maximum of two pin-on identification badges may be worn centered on the ACU coat pockets. The embroidered rank insignia is 2 inches high and 1 3/4 inches wide, and worn centered on the front hook and loop-face pad of the ACU coat for all ranks. The background of the rank insignia can be either olive green or the universal camouflage pattern. The rank insignia background will match the background of the name and U.S. Army tapes. Army combat boots are made of tan rough side out cattlehide leather with a plain toe and tan rubber outsoles. The boots are laced diagonally with tan laces, with the excess lace tucked into the top of the boot under the bloused trousers, or wrapped around the top of the boot. Metal cleats and side tabs, and sewn-in or laced-in zipper inserts are not authorized. Skill badges will be worn in order of precedence 1/8 inch above and centered on the U.S. Army tape. Two badges require a 1/4 inch space between them. Up to five badges may be worn with the first four in two rows of two and the fifth on top. Skill tabs will be placed centered on the shoulder pocket flap on the left shoulder of the ACU coat in order of precedence with a maximum of three worn at one time. There are only four authorized skill tabs (Presidents Hundred, Special Forces, Ranger, and Sapper). Tabs that are part of unit organizational patches such as the airborne or mountain tabs, are worn with the shoulder sleeve insignia below the shoulder pocket flap. Shoulder sleeve insignia is centered on the hook and loopfaced pad on the left sleeve of the ACU coat. The coat is normally worn outside the trousers, and the trousers are worn with a belt. The coat will not extend below the top of the cargo pocket on the trousers and will not be higher than the bottom of the side pocket on the trousers. Sleeves will be worn down at all times, and not rolled or cuffed. The knee pouch for internal kneepad inserts and the bellowed calf storage pocket on the left and right legs will be worn closed at all times. The trousers will be tucked into the top of the boots or bloused using the draw string at the bottom of the trousers or by using commercial blousing devices. They should not extend below the third eyelet from the top of the boot.

ALL ENLISTED Distinctive Unit Insignia (enlisted personnel only) Enlisted personnel wear the DUI on the ASU coat, centered on the shoulder loops an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the button, with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. ALL ENLISTED Center rank insignia between the shoulder seam and the elbow on both sleeves. ALL SOLDIERS Center unit awards 1/8 inch above the top of the pocket flap (males), and center unit awards with the bottom edge 1/2 inch above the top of the nameplate (females). ALL SOLDIERS OSBs - If authorized for wear. The overseas service bar is worn centered on the outside bottom half of the right sleeve of the Army Service Uniform coat. The lower edge of the overseas service bar is placed 14 inch above the right sleeve braid of the coat for officer personnel, and 4 inches above and parallel to the bottom of the sleeve for enlisted personnel. Each additional bar is spaced 1/16 inch above, and parallel to the first bar. ALL ENLISTED Center service stripes on the outside of the left sleeve 4 inches from the bottom. Place the service stripe at a 45-degree angle with the lower end toward the inside seam of the sleeve. ALL SOLDIERS The front crease of the slacks or trousers will reach the top of the instep and be cut on a diagonal line to reach a point approximately midway between the top of the heel and the top of the standard shoe in the back. The slacks or trousers may have a slight break in the front. ENLISTED BRAID Trouser leg (males) enlisted corporal and above have one 1-12 inch gold-colored nylon or rayon braid. Trouser leg (females) enlisted corporal and above have one 1-inch gold-colored nylon or rayon braid.
