Tutorial1 B+ Belt+Drive+System

An open belt drive system transmits 25 kW of power between two pulleys with diameters of 250 mm and 400 mm that are 1 m apart. The minimum required belt width is calculated to be 115.5 mm. The necessary installation force between the pulley bearings is 11.2 kN and the force when transmitting full power is 10.4 kN. When the belt on a small air compressor with a 300 mm pulley is moved between pulleys, it slips for 0.5 seconds before the compressor reaches its constant speed of 150 rpm.
