UG - Format of Final Year Project Proposal (FYP)


The format of FYP proposal defense should follow following guidelines.
1. Title Page. Also mention about advisor, co-advisor and committee
members(if any)
2. Introduction: A comprehensive introduction of domain.
3. Problem Statement: A short description about project and main
expected challenges.
4. Related Work and Literature Survey: In this portion, students will
investigate existing tools and solution related to his/her domain/problem,
identified in problem statement (section 1) and will explain main points
those are discussed in the findings.
5. Requirement Analysis: Modules of project, responsibility of each
module and their interaction at abstract level (block diagram). Students
may also mention tools, technologies and suitability of the method(s) to
be employed with justification. Objectives and scientific, engineering, or
educational significance of the proposed work should be clearly viewed
from this portion.
6. Deliverable(s): In this section student will provide information about
deliverable(s) or end product. If the project is divided into modules, each
student is liable to only identify its own work. Student should be kept in
mind that the problem statement and deliverables must be synchronized.
7. Schedule of Deliverable(s): Student will set different milestones for the
successful completion of project and clearly identify each milestone.
Overlapping between milestones should be avoided.
8. End Product Description: Students must describe to maximum detail
the final project output. Its hardware / software deliverables should be
described along with the major functionalities of the final end-product.
9. Conclusion: This should highlight the final conclusion describing the
overall big picture of the projects to be developed.
10.
References: Any material/information referred from research
papers, books or/and websites should be acknowledged under this
heading.
