Problem in sending messages at low temperatures

Description
Due to a problem discovered in software versions prior to ver 2.12 - including the
first release of 2.12, it is necessary to upgrade to new version 2.12.
Background
The problem is related to the software which is constantly checking the temperature
inside the unit. When/if the ambient temperature is approximately -3C or below
all attempts to transmit messages will fail. During normal operation, the software is
checking when sending messages, that the internal temperature will not exceed 85C
in order to protect the hardware components.
The following is NOT affected by the software error:

Datareporting / receiving polls

Receiving messages

EGC reception
All software versions from ver 2.00 to version 2.12 is affected by this software bug.
Action
For TT3000SSA it is mandatory to upgrade to new version 2.12, as the problem is
related to messaging.
For TT-3026L/M/S it is recommended to upgrade units which are operating in cold
areas + using messaging.
Units which has been shipped from Thrane & Thrane with ver 2.12, is not affected
by the mentioned problem. The problem (regarding 2.12) is only related to the
version available at the extranet from July 9th until August 14th.

Following steps needs to be followed:


1. After the upgrade - according the instructions in the file Servicenote-212.pdf
downloaded with the software it is important to check that the correct
version has been downloaded.
Type the command ver and verify that the CPU version is 2.12.15. Ex:

3. TT3000SSAS ONLY: Enter the S/N and PCB nr in the database of
TT3000SSAS units at
http://www.tt.dk/extra/marine/ssascodes1/admloginform.asp
Leave out the first 0 of the s/n.
Leave out the two - when the PCB nr is entered.
Ex.:

In order to stay in control of which units have been upgraded - it is of great


importance that the below information is provided. Credit notes for
upgrading each unit (100 pr. upgraded unit) will be issued accordingly:
Please do not send invoices for these upgrades.
After the data entry, you will receive an email, so you can track number of
upgrades and compare with the credit notes.
