Phyto Nanotechnology

The document discusses Prof. D. Sakthikumar's research into phyto-nanotechnology, which involves using nanotechnology applications in plant systems. Some key areas of research include using nanoparticles to enhance plant growth and nutrient uptake, tracking nanoparticles inside plants, and utilizing non-edible plants for sustainable nanoparticle synthesis. The research aims to both investigate the effects of nanoparticles on plants and develop applications such as nano-pesticides and fertilizers.

PhytoNanotechnology
Nanotechnology, ever since its advent, has become synonymous with electronics and biomedical applications. Very few have ventured into the arena of
phytooragronanotechnology,possiblyduetocomplexityoftheplantsystemsandvariousotherlimitations.Muchoftheplantnanotechnologyrelationship

has shifted to their fate and consequent effects on the life forms. With concerns of toxicity, concurrent attention has been driven to their uptake,
