The East Atchison Wolves baseball team defeated the North Nodaway Mustangs in both the varsity and junior varsity games, which were the last home games of the season. In the varsity game, the Wolves won 15-5 led by Brody Cooper who pitched six innings and had two RBIs and three runs. In the junior varsity game, the Wolves also won 6-5. Individual statistics are provided for both games.

Wolves take down the Mustangs in last home games of the season
Friday night turned out
to be a great night of baseball for the East Atchison
Wolves varsity and junior
varsity baseball teams. Both
teams defeated the North
Nodaway Mustangs in what
were the last home games of
the season for the Wolves.
Senior East Atchison team
members were also honored,
along with their parents.
They included Trevor Brown
(son of John and Cheryl
Brown), Jase Barnes (son
of Tracy and Holly Barnes),
and Joe Brandenburg (son
of Franz and Marilyn Brandenburg).
The Wolves varsity team
took on the Mustangs in the
first game of the night. The

District
baseball
The East Atchison
Wolves Baseball Team
will compete in the Class
2, District 16 Baseball
Tournament,
which
begins this Saturday,
May 16, 2015, at North
Platte High School in
Dearborn, Missouri. The
Wolves will compete
against Lone Jack at
12:00 noon on Saturday.
If they win, they will
play Mid-Buchanan on
Monday, May 18, at 6:30
p.m. The championship
game will be held at 6:00
p.m. on Wednesday, May
20. Wolves fans are encouraged to attend the
games and support the
local athletes!

the pitching mound. He had
two RBIs on two hits and he
pitched for six innings, allowing five runs, four hits,
and three walks while striking out nine batters. In the
sixth inning, the Wolves

Market Hog
Weigh Day
In preparation for the
2015 Atchison County Fair,
4-H and FFA youth brought
their market hog project animals to weigh-day on Saturday, May 2, at the Atchison
County fairgrounds. A total
of 44 hogs, averaging 106
pounds, were weighed for 16
exhibitors.
This start weight will
be subtracted from the final weight at the fair and
divided by the number of
days between weights for
the rate-of-gain contest. 4-H
and FFA members also had
the opportunity to nominate
hogs for the Missouri State
Fair and Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H
Stock Show.
The Atchison County
Fair Swine Show will be on
Thursday, July 30, 2015, at
6:30 p.m. at the Atchison
County fairgrounds in Rock
