The scope encompassed the creation of an end-to-end monitoring system for a critical application at Discover Financial. This application included 5
tiers - user interface, middleware IBM WAS, custom applications, mainframe DAS and network.
• Defined the processes for information gathering & analysis, led determination of the project requirements and analysis of the information
collected.
• Performed deconstruction of each tier to identify if and how user sessions could be tracked and monitored. This effort required an in-depth
examination of the custom application structure & data flow to configure monitoring systems to track single transactions through the tiers
and identify issues in real-time.
• Led architecture, repositioning and reconfiguration of 320 Cisco & NetScout; probes, switches, and routers.
• Installed, configured and integrated NetScout and Concord suites to monitor systems.
