Drum removal
Open front door and unlock developer unit, slide out side cover, lift drum unit out.
Developer unit removal
After removing drum unit (as described above), remove toner cartridge and remove bypass
assembly, unlock DV unit by turning handle, remove 2 screws in front holding shaft guide, and
remove it.
Pull the DV unit out from the left side by the handlesthis is a mono component machine there is no developer calibration needed.
Waste Toner
Stored inside drum unit, when full WASTE TONER FULL will display and drum unit should be
emptied or replaced.

SERVICE MODE
ACCESS: Select USER MODE by pressing ADDITIONAL FUNCTION key
Press ID key (#) on user mode screen
Select menu item using cursor key
Press OK key. Select an item with cursor key
Press OK key enter new values with number keys, press OK to lock in
Press STOP key to end service mode.
DC Controller VRs
VR101: lead edge registration adjustment.
VR401: high voltage. factory use only.
VR402: Toner level detect. factory use only.
VR403: Toner level detect. factory use only.
SW101: test print.

Service menus
1: SSSW (service softswitches): do not touch any except 33.
Softswitch 33:
0: 1 to count as large size paper.
1: 1 for serial number on counter screen.
2: up to 7: not used.
2: Menu: not used.
3:Numerical parameters: change only 56-61 this has to do with counter check screen. If 0 not

11:Download firmware:
ROM DIMM and CPU on image processor board. ROM on finisher DC controller.
If USB driver not installed on computer, go to ADD NEW HARDWARE WIZARD and select driver,
When done click FINISH. Restart computer, install the firmware to the service tool. Install (may
need factory manual or firmware may have instructions).
Download: shut power, remove rear cover and connect USB connector J203 to image
processor
Board and PC, disconnect USB from NIC if used, turn ON PC, click download/upload.
On machine press USER MODE and then press # to start service mode, select #11
DOWNLOAD
With >< keys, click OK on computer, select IR1600 SYSTEM on PC screen, click CONNECT on
PC
Click OK. Click OK again when done.
Click SYSTEM SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD select from list on screen. Click START, machine will
start
At end of download, when ADD NEW HARDWARE displays click CANCEL, shut machine power.
Shut PC, disconnect USB cable, connect USB back to NIC if used, turn ON machine,
Press USER MODE and # to start service mode, using <> keys select #13 ROM and press OK.
Using <> keys check version in MAIN. Go to service mode 12 and select CLEAR >ALL
enter #5 type press OK to lock in. Press CLEAR to go back to copy mode.
12:Clear:Press CLEAR key to clear the count.
TEL/USER data: not used.
User data initialize
Service switches 1-7 initialize.
Service data: not used.
Report: Activity (not used) jam, error alarm
Counter: Print Clear.

ERR (E355 Clear)

All clear except counter.


13:ROM.
Main 1:Image processor board.
