1. Server to play either to the Left Back (LB) or Left Centre Back (LCB)
2. LB should look to play to the forwards?
3. If not play can the LB play into the midfielders?
4. If the LB has space can they run with the ball?
5. If there are no options can the LB keep the ball possibly using the LCB
as a last resort.
Scenarios/Triggers
1. If the forwards feet are available can we play into them and ask the Left
Midfielder (LM) join in and then support the LM?
2. If the forwards feet arent available can we play into space for the forward
to run into?
3. Can the LB play to the CM feet and look to link with a set, pass, give and
go or interplay in the midfield.
4. Can the LB use the midfielders? If the ball goes wide and the LM comes
inside LB to overlap.

Logical Sequence:
RB RM
RM takes their touch inside creating space in the wide area, either play in RB
themselves or link with midfield/forwards to play in the overlapping RB. Create
a 2v1 with the defender.
RM-RCM
RM can stay wide and play a give and go with either the RCM or RB. RM can
come inside giving the RB to exploit the space behind the defence.
RB FWD
FWD and Midfield link to create space in behind for either RM or overlapping
RB
CM-RM
Create a 2v1 to allow give and go, overlap, ball in behind for the forward to
make a 3rd man run.

overload in midfield of a 4 vs 3. Wide players must stay wide for their
start positions.
2. Servers can play directly into RW or LW if they want, or they can play to
any of the Red teams attackers.
3. When the ball is played into the reds the blue centre backs must
organise the team to defend effectively.
Logical sequence:
1. Pressure on the ball centre backs can squeeze the play making the
area tight.
2. No pressure on the ball defence must drop off as a unit GK to
organise.
3. Ball in wide areas does the defence choose to pressure or hold position
and defend box.
4. Can the ball be won or do we simply hold up and make predictable/
hold up play.
