Dear Human Resources Manager,
I am a hard working, motivated individual who is currently studying Human Resources at
Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. I am very interested in a HR position at Fanshawe
College after noticing the job ad posted online. Fanshawe College prides themselves in equal
education and motivation which I strongly agree with.
Throughout both high school and college, I have been recognized for my independent and hard
working skills. In high school, I balanced work and sports while I studied, earning Honour roll
each year I attended. I displayed strong leadership skills all throughout, as I once had to lead a
group of 15 students to show them around the school. Now, at college I dedicate myself to
strictly studying the HR program and can assure you I am prepared for my next step with HR.
My work experience consists of assisting people to guarantee that they are always content with
whatever they received. At my previous job, Marks, I ensured that customers were satisfied by
going out of my way to solve any problems they may had. In my previous semester of college, I
developed efficient HR, payroll and excel skills. I pride myself in my commitment to help people
and my ability to stay focused. I was also asked multiple times to demonstrate policies, tasks and
procedures to new employees at Marks and Eglis.
Thank you for taking the time to consider me as a future employee. I would love to experience

Often directed by the managers to direct the new employees. This would
include showing employees how to do certain transactions on the cash
register, how to fold/hang clothes the correct way and how to do orders via
Fast Find. This way new employees were trained on the floor while
experiencing real situations they would encounter.
Thinking&SolvingSkills
Quick to think and fix problems customers may face. Marks has a program
called Fast Find which allows customers to prepay and order clothes if they
are not present in the store location. Clearance items do not appear on Fast
Find since it can not be guaranteed. A customer was upset that she had chosen
a clearance shirt that wasnt available in her size at the store. I located the
shirt on the PMM system in a store nearby. I then called the store and
requested that they transfer the shirt to our store. A couple days later, the shirt
arrived and the customer was very satisfied. This is not required to do by
employees, but it made the customer very satisfied.

Excellent at leading and directing others. In grade 12, my friends and I were
in charge of directing grade 8s around the school for orientation. Together, we
came up with a schedule and activities the students could do. I led a group of
about 15 students around the school to prepare them for their first day of
grade 9. To keep them motivated and interested, I bought chocolate bars to
hand out when the students asked questions, participated in activities, or went
out of their comfort zone. This kept the students intrigued and motivated
while learning about their future school.
Time Management Skills
Demonstrate responsibility by time management skills, planning and goal
setting. While attending Fanshawe, I would never hand in projects or papers
late. I ensured that all assignments and deadlines were reached as soon as
possible. I would plan out my work schedule and homework on a calendar as
soon as the due dates were provided. It is a crucial goal of mine to finish all
projects on time. Being responsible is an important asset when it comes to
any job as it allows employers to take employees seriously.
