WEAVE TYPE :

It is made by plain weave, made with closely woven coloured warp (the vertical
thread) and either a white or unbleached filling/weft yarn (the horizontal thread).

The weave is either plain or dobby (comprised of small, geometric figures) on a


plain-weave ground. Chambray can be designed with stripes or checks, or
embroidered.

It can be woven in a variation of weights, making it versatile, strong and hard wearing
and thus good for both shirting and outerwear.

FINISHES :

The fabric may be treated to resist wrinkles and shrinkage.

PROPERTIES :
1. AESTHETICS:
LUSTER - It has a closely woven, firm surface with a slight lustre.
DRAPE It has a comfortable drape that falls moderately soft flares. It can made as
fitted, semi-fitted, loose-fitted fabric.
HAND It is soft, comfortable fabric, easy to cut, sew and may be pleated, gathered
or shirred into soft fullness.
PILLING Pilling occurs after more usage.
RESILIENCY It resists wrinkle moderately.
