Rudder Calculation

This document calculates the rudder design for a ship with a length of 322.26 m, beam of 50.9 m, and service speed of 13 knots. It determines the rudder area should be 98 m^2 based on vessel dimensions. The rudder geometry is then calculated as having a span of 12.74 m, chord of 7.72 m, and aspect ratio of 1.65. Additional calculations determine the rudder stock diameter should be 1414.525 mm, bearing depth should be 1768.16 mm, and plate thickness should be 21.02 mm.
