BATTLE OF THE BRAINS

IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. BATTLE OF THE BRAINS is a group competition open to all bona fide


students of Liceo de Cagayan- College of Business and Accountancy.
2. Each sub-organization is required to send at least one (1) team which consists
of four (4) members. However, the sub-organization may also send more than
one (1) team for the said contest.
3. Each team should have a name. We encourage each team to come up with a
witty, creative team name that will be easy to recall. (Nothing obscene or
offensive.)
4. The BATTLE OF THE BRAINS competition is composed of five (5) categories.
Each category will have 5-10 questions.
5. Each question will be read twice by the host. Players may start writing their
answers at anytime. After the host has read the question, a 10-second
allowance will be given so that teams may finish writing their answers on the
whiteboard. The host will then request that all whiteboards be raised to show
their answers. Everyone MUST then stop writing and raise their boards. The
correct answer will be announced by the host and teams who got it correct will
earn a point (or more, depending on the category or if there are bonus
questions.)
6. Teams still writing after the answer has been revealed will invalidate their answer.
7. Wrong spelling wrong.
8. Marshals will be posted in strategic locations to enforce order and validate the
answers. Teams with the correct answer will be announced by the host and the
scorer will then record the points earned.
9. Strictly NO using of phones, laptops; so as such, the use of Wi-Fi is prohibited.
Sharing of answers between teams is not allowed. Any team caught violating
these rules will be given a corresponding consequence.
10. If a player feels that there are alternate answers to the question at hand, he/she
is advised to raise his/her concern immediately to the host so that it will be
acknowledged. It will then be forwarded to the quiz committee for arbitration. The
alternative answer will be noted along with those whose answers are the same
with the said alternate answer. While it is being verified, the game should
progress normally. The committees decision will be announced at the end of the
set and points will be adjusted accordingly.
11. At the end of the five (5) categories, the team with the highest number of points
will be declared the champion.
12. In case of a tie, we will go to a sudden death march where the first team to get
the correct answer immediately wins.
13. There will be a pre-registration on February 13, 2017 until February 21, 2017 at
the CBA Office from 8am-5pm.
14. The quiz committees decision shall be FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.
