Utah Mci 400

This document provides information on connecting expansion panels to a control panel, including connections for power, serial ports, GPIO, station ID dipswitches, and U-Net connectors. It explains that a CAT-5 cable in a daisy chain configuration is used to connect multiple panels, and that the chain must be terminated at the end with a supplied terminator. Serial port pinouts are provided for both RS-232 and RS-422 connections. A configuration port using a 9-pin to RJ-45 adapter is also noted.

GPIO Selection Switch
When an expansion panel is used, this connection RS-232; 1=CD, 2=RX, 3=TX, 4=DTR, 5=GND, 6=DSR, 7=RTS, Relay closure
This switch sets the mode for the
loops between the panels using a CAT-5 cable. 8=CTS, 9=Not used between the upper
GPI/GPO connector to the right.
When no expansion panel is used terminate this RS-422; 1=Not used. 2=RX-, 3=TX+, 4=Not used, 5=GND, 6=Not pin and power pin
Switch 1 corresponds with GPIO
connection with the supplied U-Net terminator. used, 7=RX+, 8=TX-, 9=Not used when relay is closed.
1 etc. Up fo GPO; down for GPI
Note: To select RS-422 or RS-232 open the panel and locate the
jumpers in the lower right hand corner of the panel as you view it from
the top with the rear of the panel closest to you.

Station ID Dipswitch
Each panel needs a unique Binary ID number
Control panel cannot be assigned to station ID 000 or 255.
