Junk Food

The document discusses banning junk food in schools to help prevent obesity. It proposes eliminating the sale of high-fat, high-sugar foods and drinks in schools, requiring nutritional information on fast food packaging, and allowing transportation funding to be used for active transportation like walking and biking. While some may object, the government contributed to obesity by promoting car use over active transportation, reducing exercise for many children. Promoting active transportation through bike lanes and events could help address obesity and transportation issues.

INTRODUCTION.

Know junk food is bad for you but it's too hard to give up
those wonderful, crispy fries? No problem. Food should
not be this complicated. Neither should it be a
complicated decision for schools to eliminate junk food
from their canteens.

One of the things I am proposing to help prevent obesity

that is already been on the news and current affairs
programs has received national attention. Some of the
measures include banning schools from selling high-fat,
high-sugar foods and drinks, requiring all fast food stores
to provide nutritional information on packaging and
menus, and allowing transportation funding to be used for
things like walking, bike riding. Without a doubt, people
will become annoyed, particularly those who represent
soft drink companies and fast food restaurants. Others
will roll their eyes, believing the government is once
again trying to regulate what people can do with their
own bodies.

But they forget that the government helped people

become overweight in the first place. It promoted the car
and petrol industry, which led to the decline of human
powered transportation like walking and bike riding. Many
kids walked or biked to school in the earlier days, and
now they just catch a bus, tram, train or get driven by
car. This increases the chance of obesity by a large scale,
since there is not much exercise involved. If more people
would do more walking and bike riding not only would it
reduce the chance of becoming obese it would stop the
congestion that is caused by school students when they
pack our trams, buses and trains. But it is only the
students who congest our public transport, its also all
those business men and women in their suits and ties
early in the morning. If the government promoted bike
riding by installing bike racks and having special bike
lanes around the city, maybe even holding bike riding
marathons to promote the use of the bike facilities.

How can we teach that but yet promote the selling of junk food
while in school hours. When selling these junk products to
children they are at a bigger risk of getting diabetes. To add, there
are reasons to keep junk food in schools but there"re not
reasonable ones.

6. The Negative Effects of Junk Food on Students

Junk food works that way for the children. After a week or two of
junk food being gone out of schools children would likely forget
that there was ever a choice to have junk food in there cafeteria
lines. This is the second reason why Junk food should be

7. The Problem with Television and Processed Foods

Mostly influenced by big companies and the media, young people
have begun to fall under the influence of television and junk-food
more than their own parents. In the article,"Television, Processed
Foods Couldn't Be More Proud of the Child They Raised",

8. Keeping a Good Nutrition Plan

Indeed, not all kinds of food are good for the human body.. Also,
peoples' metabolisms can be defined by the food they eat. If they
eat healthy foods, then they are more likely to have a faster
metabolism. Many people in these years eat very unhealthy
because it's easier for them eating junk food than eating clean.
9. Fast Food - Targeted Advertising
Fast food places make their restaurants look very bright and cool,
like everyone\'s just having fun. "The other day my husband said
[he didn\'t] want to take the kids to play at McDonal's, Faldyn said
, The rise in awareness of healthy eating and obesity has
negatively impacted the business of these establishments,

10. Food Safety

The safety guidelines for food and food preparation need to be
followed from the time of food purchase all the way to heating up
leftovers. Freezer burn is a food quality issue, not a food safety
issue. One diet that I have tried that truly enhanced my life was
Weight Watchers. By giving me a simple way to track my food
intake .

11. Do You Live in a Food Toxic Environment?

In my building for example, there is a convenience store attached
to the lobby. Students in my building can even go so far as to
have meals made delivered to their door. Also, in grocery stores,
the number of aisles that you can find junk food in is much
greater than the number of aisles with healthy food.

12. Food Intake Logging Synopsis

In the past two weeks, I have observed my eating patterns and I
have noticed that while I usually stay within the 2,000-2,500
calorie range, my eating habits are irregular and therefore
unhealthy for that reason and the other being that I receive those
calories from food sources that contain sugar, fat or is otherwise
high in.

Service Association, has similar concerns. "After the sugar high
wore off and they would finish bouncin.

about. .And on many occasions my parents would force me to eat
certain foods, such as vegetables, because they were.

15. My Favorite Food

love to eat, but more than just eating, we love to eat home-
cooked food, that special concoction of flavors and spices, one
that is both handed over from tradition yet is widely ingrained in
popular culture. While it is true that we can pacify our yearnings
for our mother"s home cooking with every available.

16. Fast Food

Furthermore, these fast food chains are even blamed for
epitomizing fast food into American Culture via their acute
advertising plans and sponsorships. My attitudes towards fast
food, its ingredients and the industry did not change. With all the
negative criticisms surrounding the fast.

17. Banning Junk Food In Schools

Schools should not permit the sale of junk food on their
campuses. ... It is the same ideology for junk food in schools; if a
school gives its students the impression that it is okay to have a
bag of chips and a can of soda for breakfast.

18. Food Additives

If a substance is added to a food for a specific technological
purpose in that food, and is not a food itself, it is referred to as a
food additive. Mankind has used food additives for centuries. In
the past 30 years, however, with the advent of processed foods,
there has been massive explosion in the chemical adulteration of
food.

19. Food Processing

I have never really had concerns about how my food was made I
just worried about having food. My concerns have been built up
and there are a couple of things that I really have started to think
about now. My newly built concerns are how the chickens and
cows are being treated poorly, how the sanitation of the food is
not good.

20. Fast Food is Unhealthy

Many people like to eat fast food, especially for children. Then, try
not to eat fast food. If someone consumes a certain "junk food that
is high in calorie and fat over a long period of time they will increase the risk of
getting heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. Thus, fast food does not
always save time.

21. How the Raccoon Got Its Mask

He loved to eat junk food, but his mother only let him eat healthy
food because she thinks that growing, young children shouldn"t
eat anything bad. Instead of defying his mother right in front of
her face, the raccoon decided that he would steal junk food out of
trashcans by the street. ..

22. Food Addiction

Food addiction is similar to drug and alcohol addiction. One of the
main symptoms of a food addict is the obsession with a
remembered sense of pleasure or comfort with food when he is
not eating. Food consumes his livelihood. Food becomes a way of
life for some addicts. Symptoms of the food addict are
accelerated by food allergies ..

23. Food labeling

Labels on all packaged food must give consumers clear, and non-
misleading information regarding the nutritional content of food
packages. The current FDA policy (Food and Drug Administration
policy) which is status-quo, requires that food should be labeled
only if it poses a safety concern. .

24. Food and Depression

Certain foods are known to have a calming affect, for example
comfort foods, the majority of which are high in carbohydrates
and fats. ... Too much junk food is available to the consumer and
most of these, over a long time of consumption, can lead to being
overweight or obese and therefore to the feeling of unhappiness
with one"s body

25. Fast Food Nation

Food Nation is a very controversial book. He really made me
think about how fast food has affected my life as well as the
people around me. Since there is so much else going on fast food
becomes the obvious choice rather than cooking your own food.

26. Food
Fast food restaurants has several definitions but a definition my
partner and I created was a fast food restaurant is a restaurant
through which food is prepared in a matter of minutes and eating
in or carrying out is optional. When my partner and I were
brainstorming for reasons people come to fast food we thought of;
popularity, variety

27. Fast Food

However, senior people do not eat fast food very often. The group
that consumes fast food the most is teenagers. Last month, I went
to my friend party, and he ordered pizzas for his party. Last year, I
worked in the community center near my house, and my job was
to help senior people to apply for government money.
CONCLUSION
Companies put tons of things that are bad and processed into their food to make
them taste good. I heard somewhere that they are also putting a lot more salt into
their foods to make them taste more appealing. Junk food is unsatisfying and
doesn't do a good job in filling you up and giving you energy. Other foods that are
healthy have lots of good ingredients in them and give you the energy you need to
keep going. Eating healthier foods keep you fuller longer, and make you feel a
whole lot better.

For example, eating something that's more healthy like BelVita breakfast biscuits
keeps me much more full than just eating chips as a snack. Chips don't fill you up
and are only satisfying in the moment, making you constantly want more after. But
good foods fill you up and make you want to stop eating.

And generally junk food has much more advertising than healthier foods.
-it will make you smarter since it is salty salt can make you smart
-it is bad for your health
-it has a lot of unsaturated fats
-it is good for survival
-it is a portable food
-it is addictive
-it has a lot of flavors
