Humoral Immunity 1

Humoral immunity, also called antibody-mediated immunity, is mediated by B cells. B cells differentiate into plasma cells upon activation by antigens. Plasma cells secrete antibodies that are specific to the antigen and help clear antigens through mechanisms like neutralization, precipitation, and agglutination. Memory B cells provide immunological memory. The interaction between an antigen and the antibody it induces is specific, with the antibody only recognizing the epitope on the antigen that triggered its production.
