Useof3 Type of Conditional Form of 3 Type of Conditional

This document provides information about the third conditional, also known as the past conditional. It discusses the form, which is past perfect in the if-clause and conditional perfect in the main clause. Examples are given to illustrate expressing hypothetical past situations and their unlikely results, such as "If I had seen you, I'd have said hello." The document also notes that "I wish/If only" constructions use past perfect to express regret about something that didn't happen, like "I wish/If only you had come earlier." Practice exercises follow to reinforce using the third conditional form.
