CAMPFIRE OPENING SCRIPT

Long years ago when our fathers fought with great animals, you were the
protection

When they needed food, you changed the flesh of beasts into savory meat for
them.

During all the ages your mysterious flame has been a symbol to them for
Spirit.

So tonight, we light oar fire in remembrance of the Great Spirit who gave you
to us."

“Let there be light”

Fire from the North: "This is the light Scouting. It radiates enthusiasm. As
light brings out the sparkle in diamonds, enthusiasm brings out the sparkle
in Scouting."

Fire from the South: "This is the light of Scouting. It's energy gives us the
strength to do our best!"

Fire from the East: "This is the light of Scouting. It touches


everyone. Remember the brotherhood we share together in this place."

Fire from the West: "This is the light of Scouting. It brightens the way of the
path we will follow."

May this fire touch us with the magic of its mystery;


May we see in its dance the ever-changing beauty of the world;
May this fire be good medicine
Where fellowship, adventure, and fun sit side by side;
May this fire tonight remain forever in our hearts,
Even as the first fire kindled by our ancestors
Has remained alight through the ages.

Spirit Red, Sprit Red – thy hunger must be fed.


Spirit Hot, Spirit Hot – forget us not, forget us not.
As the years grow old, keep us from the cold.
Spirit White, Spirit White – in the darkness of the night, be our shining light.

I now declare the campfire open

CAMPFIRE CLOSING SCRIPT

The embers of our campfire Are now slowly dying, The birds and wood folk have
gone to their rest. The stars shining over us, Their light shines before us; Oh God
of nature grant to us a perfect peace. Let's remember the food we've shared, The
games we've played, the songs we've sung; Let's remember all of these things.
Let's remember the skit's we've played, The hikes we've hiked, the problems
we've shared; Let's remember all of these things. I now declare this council fire
closed, Its memories stored forever in our hearts and minds.
