Purpose:
To determine that an air agency meets, or continues to meet, the requirements for certification and merits
issue/renewal of a certificate

1. Receive initial inquiry for issue/renewal of pilot school certificate (FAA Form 8420-8)

2. Receive application for issue/renewal of pilot school certificate (FAA Form 8420-8)

3. Open PTRS record

4. Review application for completeness and accuracy, note any changes and/or amendments

4.1 If applicant does not meet renewal requirements for a pilot school then, a provisional
pilot school certificate will be issued

4.2 If original applicant does not meet initial issuance, then a provisional pilot school
certificate may be issued for a period of 24 months

4.3 If applicant is currently a provisional school certificate holder, and has not, or cannot
satisfy renewal requirements, applicant must wait 180 days before reapplying
