Moving Ahead with Innovation

We are happy to announce that CII Eastern Region in association with Department of IT, Government
of Orissa is organising ICT Orissa 2009 on 6 November at Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar. The central
theme of the conference is “Moving Ahead with Innovation”.
World economy has seen a major change in the recent past. Financial markets were shaken and the
confidence of consumers and investors were at trough causing financial damage. Huge pressure on top
line is seen all across the industry. Bottom line has never been under so much scrutiny in recent past.
However there is a brighter side of the story. These events forced the industry to look for different
opportunities, change of strategy, innovative thinking, ways of cost optimization and redeployment of
manpower and hardware resource. Industries are forced to think of strategy which can prepare them to
face any untoward situations of future.
Against this backdrop we will have an oracle of stalwart visionaries, practitioners and users who are
thinking of more elastic strategies which can take such future shocks easily and more graceful manner.
Industry is more focused on cost reorganization and optimization to have a strong bottom line. The
industry needs more innovative planning and execution to achieve targeted growth. Innovation is no
more a chaotic and random event. ICT industry has incorporated many Best Practices so that
innovation can be in the DNA of the organizations. A proper planning is being taken place for organized
innovation.
We are inviting eminent leaders of the ICT industry to participate and address in the conference. The

Only top line is not in the focus today. Bottom line also been looked at very critically. Options for cost optimization are being
understood more critically. Every place starting from Infrastructure to IT system deployment and management cost optimization and
sharing of cost is being looked at. Organization is looking for sharing cost by outsourcing – non-core to semi-core activities. Cloud
Computing is becoming fast accepted. Back-office outsourcing, outsourcing of niche research work all are in the horizon. Optimize
cost is the call of the day. This session will elaborate what has happened, how it happened, what is in-store in near future and how
ICT companies can take advantage of the cost optimization.
