Rahimafrooz Energy Services Limited inspected a GSW560D generator and found several issues requiring repairs. The crankshaft needs cutting and polishing due to defects in three positions. One connecting rod is bent and needs replacing. The turbocharger, lube oil pump, main bearings, thrust washers, big end bearings, one piston, cylinder liners, cylinder head valves and seats, fuel injectors, fuel pumps, water pump seals, and cooling nozzles all need repairs or replacing. An in-frame overhaul is recommended to restore the generator.

Psychoanalysis Report of your generator (GSW560D)

Generator model: GSW560D. Engine model: BF8M1015CP


Alternator: Meccaltee Model: ECO403/S4.
Controller: AC-01

Generator running hour: 7500+

Present condition: Unable to took load.

Rahimafrooz Energy Services Limited (RESL) have completed dismantling the engine
from date 18.04.2016 to date 19.04.2016 and brought the engine to workshop. Please following
is the parts assessment report and recommendation to recovery is for your necessary
information and steps:

A. Crankshaft: We have checked the crankshaft in workshop and found defects in three
position. Thus the crankshaft need to cutting & polishing (10 sizes). The main reason
for such failure is improper fitting and setting of the piston which the engine seized in
one piston also.

RESL recommend to cutting and polishing the crankshaft. RESL will provide 500 amp load
guarantee of this generating set.
B. Connecting rod: We (RESL) found bending of one connecting rod. RESL strongly
recommends to replace 01 (one) number connecting rod for best performance of the
generator.

C. Turbo Charger: We recommend repairing the turbo charger for best performance of
generating set.

D. Lube oil pump: Checked and require servicing of the oil pump.

E. Main bearing and thrust washer: Physically damage (straight scratch). Need to
replace.

Picture (5): Defective main bearing and thrust washer.


F. Big end bearing: Physically damaged (welded). It must be replaced.

G. Piston: Physically seized and needs to replace 01 no. piston.

Picture (7): Defective piston with connecting rod.


H. Cylinder liner: We found uneven contact surface between the counter bore and bottom
face of cylinder liner. As per recommendation all the liner need to be replace.

I. Cylinder head: We have checked the components of each cylinder head. There
requires to replace 12 nos. valve and 32 nos. valve seat.

J. Fuel injector: As per service recommendation, the tip nozzle of fuel injector needs to
replace to get the desire load.

K. Fuel pumps: As per service recommendation, the plunger and delivery valve of fuel
pump needs to replace to get the desire load.

L. Water pump: RESL will change the water and oil seal of water pump.
M. Oil cooler: RESL will check the cooler and try to take necessary steps as per the guide
line.
N. Piston ring set: It needs to replace once it dismantled.
O. Oil cooling nozzle: The entire cooling nozzles are broken. Needs to replace the cooling
nozzle.

P. Probable reason/causes: There are many reasons for above problem. Few are noted
below:
™ Malfunctioning of lube oil circulation system and starvation of lube oil.
™ High engine temperature.
™ Inappropriate engine diagnosis and actions taken.

Limited” recommend and request you to take necessary measure for In-Frame
Overhauling of the generating set.
