Generator (Recovered)
Generator (Recovered)
Fixed frequency generators need to run at a constant speed, and this is impossible when an engine has to
run at variable speeds.
A frequency wild generator can run at virtually any speed which would result in a variable output
frequency so this is normally rectified to a DC output and then converted to a constant frequency fixed AC
output via an electronic control unit.
A/C wild means that the alternating current that is frequency wild, meaning as the generator speeds up or
slows down, the frequency of the a/c actually changes. On most aircraft these days, a/c power is regulated
at 400Hz by the use of Constant Speed Drives.
INVERTER: - An inverter is an electrical device which converts DC voltage , almost always from batteries
,into Standard AC voltage so that is able to be used by common appliances. In short, an inverter converts
direct current into alternating current.
STATIC INVERTER:- Static inverter is a Solid-state inverters have no moving parts and are used in a wide
range of applications including aircraft.
STANDARD FEATURES:
• Selected units are QPL devices
• Low EMI (per MIL-STD-461)
• Output regulated against line/load changes
• Reverse input voltage protection
• Qualified for operation from -55°C to 85°C temp range
• No maintenance required
• Automatic shutdown for input overvoltage protection
• Output surge capability to start motors
• Automatic current limiting and recovery to protect against overloads and short circuits
• Output power conforms to MIL-STD-704
APPLICATIONS:
• Fixed & rotary wing aircraft
• Weapons systems
• Drive motor loads
• Replace motor-generator sets
Rotary inverter:- A Rotary inverter is also known as an MG Set or Motor/Generator Set.
A DC motor is connected to turn (rotate) an AC Generator. It is an electro-mechanical
means of Converting DC into AC
FUSE:- A Fuse or an Electric Fuse is an Electrical / Electronic device that protects the circuit from different
electrical faults like over current and overload. Fuses can be considered as a sacrificial element in the
circuit as they act as a weak link in the entire circuit.
MOTOR:- An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy
AC MOTOR: - An AC motor is an electric motor driven by an alternating current (AC). The AC motor
commonly consists of two basic parts, an outside stator having coils supplied with alternating current to
produce a rotating magnetic field, and an inside rotor attached to the output shaft producing a second
rotating magnetic field. The rotor magnetic field may be produced by permanent magnets, reluctance
saliency, or DC or AC electrical windings.
DC MOTOR:-
A DC motor is any of a class of rotary electrical machines that converts direct current electrical energy into
mechanical energy.
