SM35 Various Options Explanations

The document discusses different options when processing batch input sessions in SAP. It mentions that selecting the "Extended log" option will write transaction messages to the log file. It also discusses activating expert mode in interactive batch input to deactivate error message 344 and allow branching between screens. If you select the option "Extended log" when processing a batch input session in the background,

the I, S and W messages of the transactions are written to the log. If A and E messages are
output, batch input terminates.
in background mode (N), instead in foreground (A) or error (E) mode: If you choose A or E
without checking extended log the BDC log will not contain any I or S messages (didn't test
warnings); once you select extended log those messages will also show up in the log. (As you
stated in background mode it always shows the extended log, no matter what you choose.)

EXPERT MODE
Activate expert mode in interactive batch input
Expert mode only works in interactive batch input.
You can activate it when processing a batch input session, or with the function:
System->Services->Batch Input->Expert mode
Expert mode deactivates Error Message 344, i.e. you can branch from batch input without
constantly being told 'Batch input data not available for this screen'.
Set standard size of dynpros before session processing
The interactive batch input generally only runs with screens that are
present in their standard characteristics.
Increasing or decreasing the size of the screen, either before or during processing, can cause
errors.
The additional function 'Standard screen size' resets the screen to its standard size during
processing.

Checkbox: Cancel if Log Error Occurs During Batch Input

The system stopped processing the batch input session after the current transaction caused an
error, using the addition function Cancel if Log Error Occurs.

Used in BDC programs to simulate the transactions. This is used to check errors in SM35 by
executing the SHDB with the option "Simulate Background Mode" checked.
