Design Calculation Report For Lazaro PDF

This document provides a structural design calculation for a two-story residential building for Mr. and Mrs. Lazaro/Trinidad Rodriguez. It includes descriptions of the building geometry, design philosophy, material properties, site information, and load calculations. The building is located in Paranaque City, Philippines. Dead loads, live loads, seismic loads, and wind loads are considered in the structural analysis using STAAD software. Reinforced concrete and structural steel will be designed according to relevant codes. Load combinations are analyzed to determine the worst-case scenarios.

2 DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE & GEOMETRY

The geometry of the structure with footprint dimension of 10.00 x 12.00 meter
more or less approximate sitting on agricultural areas where the geotechnical
feature is mostly on sandy clay soil. Structure is to be founded on assumed SBC
200kpa to be verified by the Contractor.

3 DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
The analysis was performed for loads namely, self-weight of structural members, ,
live loads, seismic and wind loads using STAAD. A 3D-model is prepared in STAAD
with all the main frame members. Structural members are designed as per ACI
318 and AISC 360 on Equivalent Lateral Force Analysis method . Various possible
load combinations of the primary loads are considered and these are listed in
Staad Calculation.

3.1 BASIC LOAD CALCULATIONS

The following Basic loads are considered for the design of steel member. Considering
also a traditional allowable deflection limit of L/360 per AISC Steel Construction
Manual.
3.1.1 DEAD LOAD (DL)
The self weight of the structure is considered in STAAD-Pro internally for the modeled
members based on geometry and unit weight of material. The weight of fiber
reinforced grating have been considered at the relevant locations as per the plan of
the building. Dead load due to structural members, which are not modeled also
considered based on geometry and unit weight of material.
3.1.2 LIVE LOAD (LL)
a. Live load on Deck of 2.00 kpa per NSCP were also considered in the design.
b. Dynamic load of 70% were also considered for precaution although not needed.

Load calculations :
a. Unit weights of materials :
b. Cement concrete = 24.0 kN/m3
c. Hollow Concrete Block = 21.0 kN/m3
