Mary : I was working in the garden with Colin.

( D ) Comprehension

We all have the gift of friendship . It is precious like a


jewel. A friend is someone who forgives you when you are
unkind. He encourages you when you are sad. A real friend
respects you always and includes you in every game . He also
discusses secret things with you. Friendship is the golden
thread that ties all hearts together. Life without friendship is
like the sky without a sun. Friends are the most important
ingredients is in the recipe of life.

(1) From the passage find the synonym of :

(2) Why is friendship like the golden thread ?


Friendship is like the golden thread because it ties all hearts
together.

(3) When does a friend :(a) respect you? ( b) forgive you ? (c)
encourage you?
A friend respects you always, forgives you when you are
unkind and encourages you when you are sad.
(E) Story

1- “Take me into the garden, my boy, he said at last, and tell


me all about it.” Comment . Who said this? To whom? What was
his feelings?

Mr Craven said these words to Colin. He was not believing


that his son was walking, and at the same time he was
surprised to see the secret garden open again.

2- Mr. Craven spent his time traveling in different places, but


he was a sad and a lonely man.

3- Why was the argument good for Colin’s health?


Colin needed someone to argue with. Argument made him
feel better and sop to be selfish. Also, Mary’s argument
with him proved that he wasn’t sick and that his back was
as straight as any other boy’s.

(F) Supply the missing letters:

A squirrel is a grey mammal with a long thick tail.

(G) Handwriting

The ant was active while the beetle was lazy.
