Repaire For Element Rein-Forcement: Submitted To: Dr. MARWAN ALHEIB

The document discusses rehabilitation plans for a building damaged in war, including removing and replacing a damaged slab, covering an affected column, and inserting new columns and slab for a cantilever. Design calculations are provided for flexural reinforcement of the new slabs based on ACI code requirements. The conclusion emphasizes that structural rehabilitation requires advanced technical skills and knowledge to safely repair damaged buildings.

[REPAIRE FOR ELEMENT REIN-

FORCEMENT ]
In this thesis you can see REHABILITATION for column , slab and check foundation
Introduction
Rehabilitation plays an integral role when it comes to managing sports injuries in a safe and
timely manner. Doing so competently allows for a greater chance of quick recovery and
ultimate success on and off the field. Understanding the goals of rehabilitation and how to
enhance communication between all providers who are involved with athlete care is critical
to the process. The purpose of this article is to thoroughly explain the steps and critical
components of a rehabilitation process designed specifically for each athlete's needs.
My project is about a building in our country affect in war by much collapse for slab and
column, so we need to repair it to prevent failure.
So we will need to release slab and install new one cove the effected column.

In this building we will resolve three problems showed by circle in each element 1, 2, and 3.
Rehabilitation for solid slab
We will remove all steel for slab shown in figure note 3
and install a new solid slab
Where we connection a bar 𝛷12 mm with old slab concrete 𝑙𝑑 = 50 × 𝛷 =
600 𝑚𝑚

Design one-way solid slab: (Block B floor 3)

𝒇′𝒄 = 25𝑴𝒑𝒂 𝒇𝒚 = 420 𝑴𝒑𝒂 𝒃 = 1000𝒎𝒎
For one end continuous spans:
From ACI table 9.5(a):
L 4
𝒉𝒎𝒊𝒏 = = =0.175 m ≅ 17𝑐𝑚
24 24
L 4.36
𝒉𝒎𝒊𝒏 =28 = =0.154 m ≅ 16 𝑐𝑚
24

Slab thickness is taken as 18 cm

Calculate the factored load 𝑊𝑢 : (For negative moment)

One weight of slab = 0.18 × 25 = 4.50 KN/𝑚2
𝑊𝑢 = 1.2 (DL) + 1.6 (LL)
Dead load = covering material + partitions + own weight for slab
𝐷𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑 = 2.605 + 2 + 4.5 = 9.1 𝐾𝑁/𝑚2
𝑊𝑢 = 1.2 (9.1) + 1.6 (1.92) = 14 KN/𝑚2
For a strip 1m wide → 𝑊𝑢 = 14 KN/𝑚2
[Figure: 2.36]

[Figure: 2.37]

Check adequacy of slab thickness in terms of resisting shear by satisfying the following equation:
𝑉𝑢 ≤ 0.17 Ø√𝑓𝑐′ 𝑏 × 𝑑
12
d = 180 – 40 – 8 – 6 = 126 cm
Ø𝑉𝑐 = Ø × 0.17 √𝑓𝑐′ × b × d
Ø𝑉𝑐 = 0.75 × 0.17 √25 × 1000 × 126 = 80.325 KN

For column the steel not effect but the cove need to maintenance for cover . so we
coved column shown in figure 2 by 20× 20 𝑐𝑚

For the cantilever picture note (1) we will design same as solid slab but we need to
insert two columns and install slab

Insert 4 columns
Conclusion
Rehabilitation of structures embroils contribution of high end technology, advanced skills

and calculations. This is a very responsible job to be done to save hazardous failure of

structures due to deterioration. The success of this subject totally depends on gaining

expertise in the field and day to day advancements. Rehabilitation is highly recommended for

age-old buildings showing signs of decent and save human lives from failures.
