Lab07: Full Wave Rectifier Circuit
Objective:
The objective of this experiment is to study the behavior of the full wave rectifier circuit
when a periodic signal is applied at its input.
Full-Wave Rectifier:
A full-wave rectifier, or a bridge rectifier, makes use of four diodes in a bridge arrangement
to achieve full-wave rectification. This is a widely used configuration, both with individual
diodes wired and with single component bridges where the diode bridge is wired internally
(See Fig.1).
Fig. 1: A and B are one-package bridge rectifiers whereas C is a four-diode full wave rectifier

LAB ACTIVITIES
Activity # 1:
HERE BECAREFULL NOT TO GET SHOCKED BY THE 220 V MAINS. DO NOT TOUCH THE BODY
OF THE TRANSFORMER AND ALL WIRES MUST BE INSULATED. DO NOT SWITCH ON THE
POWER BEFORE SHOWING THE CIRCUIT TO THE LAB ENGINEER.
Connect the transformer to the 220 V mains and show the output V1 on the oscilloscope.
