Answer the following questions:

1. What are clean up tools?


Clean up tools are used by different devices to remove unwanted data such as
applications. Most devices have clean up tools embedded into the device such as
device manager for android phones which cleans up RAM and storage and CPU space.
Another clean up tool would be Task Manager for windows computers.

2. What is an Internet cookie?


An Internet cookie is what is by websites to remember the data you used to used. Such
so they can give you recommendations and suggestions on new products to by. This is
also used by your computer to recognize which websites you visit most and what you
are interested in such a certain phone or car etc.

3. What is defragmentation?
Defragmentation is what is used by a PC to rearrange files and data to the correct place.
Some computers you have to do this more often than others. A compute application
called ‘Defragmentation and optimize drives’, normally takes a few hours to complete
where it goes through every single file to rearrange to where it is supposed to be so
they data is everywhere on the drive. Defragmentation is also used by computers to
keep the data and files necessary together so that your hard drive can access these
files accordingly so that the hard drive can access the files faster instead of it having to
read the files from all the way on the other side of the drive just to access files which
‘should’ be in the same place.

4. What does formatting a drive involve?


Formatting a drive includes wiping all data off the drive and giving it a clean slate and
reinstalling the version of windows. It also involves resetting all settings and putting the
computer back in its brand new state.

5. What large program usually provides these utility programs?


The large program that usually provides the utility programs would be Microsoft
windows 10 (the version of windows on the pc) which allows you to use the system to
do everything such a browsing the internet, downloading files etc.

6. What process should be undertaken regularly to make sure no data is lost?


To make sure no data is lost the process windows backup should be made regularly,
where the computer backs ups all current data such as files and applications so all the
data is kept even if someone happens like you accidently delete some files it will still be
on windows backup. Another process that can be used is to make sure no data is lost
would be system restore.

7. What term is used when making sure the files on one drive are the same as the files
on another?
You try to transfer the same files on one drive, it should show you an error saying that
the files are the same and do you want to replace them.

8. What is a file manager is used for?


A file manager is used to make sure that you can put all your files in the right place and
you can find all your data saved on the files such as applications you have installed,
documents etc. It is used for a general all around manager for your files.

9. What sorts of features can be shared across a network connection?


Features that can be shared on a network connection would include download files
using applications such as windows file sharing. Where you can connect two pcs or
more across a network connection and share features such as file sharing which would
be your files in hard drive. Also sharing things such a screen share, where you can
show someone your screen.
