INTERNSHIP REPORT
1. INTRODUCTION ..................................... 4
2. THE MAIN CONTENT OF THE REPORT ................... 4
2.1 POCOYO SMART ENGLISH CENTRE OVERVIEW ........... 4
3.1.3 REGULATION
Each teacher must send the lesson plan to the manager before 9:00 pm on Friday
every week and wear uniform.
After each lesson, the teachers must turn off all the equipment, put chairs, tables
in the right place and clean the room.
The English center uses financial fines if one employee breaks the rules;
however, rarely do they use this punishment.
4.1.1PROFESSIONAL DUTY
I’m senior master of two classes so my main job is teaching English to students,
preparing lessons, and teaching tools, examining students' assignments before
each lesson, collecting assignments and marking students, checking the last
lessons at the beginning of the class and last but not least i must creat a final test
planning for each classes to assist all my students have good performance in the
final speaking test with native teacher.
Knowing how to use Microsoft word and Excel is also an important skill for any
official. For Pocoyo Smart English Center employees, we focus using Microsoft
Excel to write the report. Each week, a lot of reports are written and sent to the
general manager. In a booking position, besides writing the report,
we use Excel for the source of students taking the placementtests. However,
sometimes student names occur 2 or 3 times, we need to filter the lists in order
not to bother them.
We need to behave in flexible ways towards different kinds of person. However,
the same thing in customer service is that we need to smile when talking to
students in every situation as well as always showing the gentle manner. For
instant, we show the politeness to old people while pleasant and friendly
to the young. Every time, when one enters center, we always need to smile and
ask “How can I help you”. We realize that we should neither solve student
problems beyond our control nor refuse student’s requests directly.
I also learn to safely and properly use office equipment such as photocopier, CD
player, phones and computer.
3. SUGGESTION
Students at university usually have some bad habits such as laziness, frequent
absence from classes, late deadline, etc. However, working in a real company, if
they keep these habits, they will sooner be eliminated.
During the Internship, my office and soft skills are improved dramatically. I
know how to use properly office equipment from the failure as well as
answering the phone in a polite manner. Documents are very important to any
organization. If one does not learn how to file the documents orderly and
effectively, he will not suit to any jobs. Therefore, one needs to be a tidy person
and careful in storing records. Although every university student already learn
Microsoft Word and Excel, not anyone can remember all the lessons while this
skill is really important towards an organization. Without any guide, employees
should figure out by themselves how to use this skill effectively. Above all, only
real job can teach you fully about customer service, how to speak and reply to
any customer. Employees need to be flexible in communication.
Apart from office skills, other necessary skills of mine are also improved such as
communicating, team working, observation and problem solving. In my opinion,
observation is the most important skill that anyone needs to learn. Through
observation, students can draw their own lessons, adjust their performance and
get a better results.
4. CONCLUSION
In general, The Internship is a good opportunity for university students to apply
technical knowledge they learned in real jobs, after 1 month internship at
Pocoyo Smart English Center, I can accumulate a lot of real experience which I
rarely learn from university. Working in a company obviously is different
format tending a club in which the former requires me to communicate with
more people. Students at university usually have some bad habits such as
laziness, frequent absence from classes, late deadline, etc. However, working in
a real company, if they keep these habits, they will sooner be eliminated.
During the Internship, my office and soft skills are improved dramatically. I
know how to use properly office equipment from the failure as well as
answering the phone in a polite manner.
Due to the limit time for researching and internship, my report has inevitable
shortcomings. I hope to receive comments from my instructor, readers and
friends to make my report better.
