Tower Mobile Scaffolds Information Sheet

This document provides information on safely using tower and mobile scaffolds. It outlines that manufacturers must provide use and erection instructions, and scaffolds should be erected according to specifications. It notes that a licensed scaffolder is required if there is a risk of a fall over 4 meters. Control measures are suggested, such as constructing scaffolds securely, keeping wheel brakes locked, and moving scaffolds carefully without people or loads.

A mobile scaffold is a tower scaffold

mounted on wheels (see Figure 1).

Often tower and mobile scaffolds will not

require a licensed scaffolder to erect or
dismantle them as there is no risk of a fall
greater than 4 metres. However, the work
should still be carried out by a competent
person.
