1) Wash your hands first. Make sure your fingers are clean. If you have time, warm your fingers
first to be attached to the oximeter sensor (probe) by dipping it in warm water. This is
because temperature also affects blood flow in your body.
2) Try to avoid the oximeter from a light source that is too bright, such as a lamp in your home.
This is because the oximeter sensor can be made by exposure to excessive light so that it
displays less accurate results. You can work it out by closing the oximeter with a towel
during the counting process.
3) Make sure your oximeter is on or on. This is indicated by the appearance of a wave image on
the screen and the red light from inside the oximeter where your finger will be placed.
4) Position your fingers in the center of the oximeter (clamped between the lower side and the
top of the oximeter). Make sure your finger is in the right position on the infrared sensor
(probe) of the oximeter.
5) Look at the results of the measurements on the screen on the surface of the oximeter.
6) Normal levels of oxygen or SpO2 saturation in your blood are between 96-100%. If your
measurement results are less than 95% plus you experience shortness of breath it can be
ascertained that you experience a lack of oxygen so that you need further medical treatment
such as giving oxygen.
