Hello!
This is Tracy Carter, Color Guard Caption Head at Music City Drum Corps. Thank you for your interest in
becoming a member of Music City Drum Corps’ 2019 Color Guard! You are welcome to attend any of the
following audition opportunities. If you attend either the Knoxville or Jacksonville one-day camps, you
are also highly encouraged to attend a full weekend as well.
Those auditioning will be evaluated on the following: technical ability, movement skills & range,
performance qualities, and ability to learn choreography & perform at a high technical level. It is asked
that your preparation for the camps include our technique warm-ups. This includes a body warm-up,
across the floor sequences, and a flag warm-up. All the audition material will be available on video at
this YouTube link:

Videos will be updated periodically with new info or adjustments. Emails will be sent through Corps Data
when a new video has been posted, but it is also asked that you subscribe to this page. A Facebook
page will also be created for you to have contact with past members, staff, and to ask questions about
our process. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any info you may need.
In the event that it is impossible for you to audition in person, a video audition may be accepted. This
will need to be addressed with the Caption Head before your submission will be accepted. The required
skills for a video audition will also be available on the YouTube page with choreography for you to learn
for this submission. There is a fee of $85 included with a video audition submission.
We hope to see you at the upcoming auditions. It’s going to be an incredible and memorable season!
