Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Syllabus in Manufacturing
Course Description: The course is designed to provide a basic understanding of traditional methods of materials processing used in
product manufacturing. Through lectures, demonstrations, and firsthand laboratory exposure, the student is given the theory and applications of each
process. It is also are responsible for the development of many types of integrated products and systems. Students learn the history and
philosophy of the industry, along with material-handling skills and how to use computer applications.
Prerequisite: None

1. Select the proper decision tools to critically, analytically and creatively solve problems and drive results
2. Analyze/Scan the environment to determine business opportunities and develop their profitability profiles from which entrepreneurial ventures
can be selected from.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Recommend appropriate part manufacturing processes when provided a set of functional requirements and product development
constraints.
2. Recommend cost-effective material options based upon net part shape, expected loading, operating environment, cost constraints,
and life expectancy.
3. Fabricate basic parts and assemblies using powered and non-powered machine shop equipment in conjunction with mechanical
documentation.
