Error: Calculation process terminated abnormally-Exit Code-C0000135:


Solution: The specified message may appear when running load flow type calculations with
ETAP 18.1.1. This is a Compiler installation problem. Please save your ETAP Project file and
close it. Then for correction please run the following files with administrator rights:

C:\ETAP 1811\Other\ww_ifort_redist_intel64_2016.4.246.msi
C:\ETAP1811\Other\w_cprof_p_11.1.072_redist_intel64\w_cprof_p_11.1.072_redist
_intel64.exe

2. Exit code - 9 error when performing harmonics or transient stability in ETAP 12.5:
Solution: Open the project file and drag the OTI file directly to ETAP.

3. For ETAP 14.X and higher, when connecting to the library or accessing an editor error
"Type 10" or "Type 12" appears.
Solution:
Please make sure to back up your project files Library files.
Go to the location in your PC where ETAP is installed. Please look for ETAPDUMP
file and delete this file permanently.
Please go to control panel and repair your ETAP.

4. "RSProxy-Do AutoSave Exception :String data, right truncation" error message when
saving project.
Solution: As a result of this error, project is not saved.

This error may appear when the path to the project files and/or library is too long.
The limitation is 128 characters long.
Check the library filename to be LibraryFile.lib.

5. Clicking on the motor Nameplate page causes an error for ETAP 12.
Solution: This Nameplate page error shows an installation problem.

With full admin access privileges to your PC, please double-click on the following file:
C:\ETAP 1250\pvdt40\Reg.BAT

6. ETAP 14 and higher and Windows 10 Upgrade


Description: After installation of ETAP 14.X on Windows 7 and upgrade to Windows 10, a
number of users receive the following error when opening any project:

ETAP has encountered and exception while trying to retrieve database version
information.
Error=SQL Server Network Interfaces: Error occurring during LocalDB instance
[x89C5010A].

A network related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection


to SQL Server. Server is not found.

Database load aborted.

Solution:
This is determined to be a Microsoft upgrade problem when Microsoft SQL Server 2012 is
installed prior to Windows 10 upgrade.

To resolve this problem:


1- Click and download the following file: ETapsHelper.zip
2- Extract and add the file to the C:\ETAP XXXX folder.
3- Double-click to run it.
4- Delete C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\StartUp\Sqllocadb.bat file, if it exists. This file was provided by ETAP
previously as a solution, which is no longer needed.
5- Sign out and sign back into your PC.

This installation will correct the sql connection.

7. DOT NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 AND HASP DRIVER INSTALLATION ISSUE FOR ETAP LICENSE
MANAGER
Description: Dot net Framework 3.5 SP1 is a pre-requisite in ETAP License Manager
which even though it is available in ETAP setup files does not get installed. The reason is
due to Operating System. This happens in Operating System Windows 10 , Windows
Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2016.

Method 1:
Please make sure Antivirus and Firewall is off and User has Admin rights prior to
installations.

Once ETAP software is installed, next step is to install License Manager.

Before we install ETAP license manager, we need to install a pre-requisite application


which is dot Net framework 3.5 SP1 and SENTINEL HASP DRIVER. This is available in ETAP
setup files but will not be installed due to Windows 10 problem.

This can be installed by below way:

1) Press the Windows key on your keyboard, type "Windows Features", and press Enter.
Then Turn Windows features on or off dialog box appears.

Select the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) check box , expand the + sign
and select HTTP option , select OK, Windows will automatically search through internet
and install it. , then reboot your computer if prompted.

2) go to below link and download the below file which is around 16.4MB

File name: SENTINEL HAP/LDK window GUI runtime installer

3) After the download install the HASP setup file.

4) You can then continue installing ETAP license manager is usual by double clicking it

5) press windows+R and type services.msc and press enter.

5) Search for ETAP lic Mgr , right click and restart.

6) Open ETAP and ETAP will prompt you for the activation code.

Method 2:

Please make sure you have admin access for doing this procedure. Steps are as below :

1) Create a folder by the name sources in C drive or D drive. Under sources folder add
new folder by name sxs ,thenDownload the file as per below link and put in sxs folder

2) Press Windows key and at the same time. Type cmd in the Run dialog box and
press Enter.
And enter the following line in the Command Prompt: DISM /Online /Enable-Feature
/FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:X:\sources\sxs

Note: From above command replace X with the letter that represents the drive. After
running this command, you should be able to install .NET Framework 3.5 on your PC
without any problems.

3) go to below link and download the below file which is around 16.4MB

File name : SENTINEL HAP/LDK window GUI ringtone installer

4) After the download install the HASP setup file.

5) You can then continue installing ETAP license manager is usual by double clicking it

6) press windows+R and type services.msc and press enter.

8. Error=Cannot open database "databasename" requested by the login. The login failed.
Description: (ETAP 14 and higher version)
Error message when opening a project:
ETAP has encountered an exception while trying to retrieve database version
information.

Error=Cannot open database "databasename" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'domain\username'

Database load aborted!

Solution
1) Close ETAP
2) Download CleanUpLocalDB.zip and unzip
3) Double-click on CleanUpLocalDB.cmd and wait for completion
4) Open ETAP projects

This file (CleanUpLocalDB.cmd) can also be found in C:\ETAP XXXX\Other folder. (applies
to ETAP 18 and higher)
9. Error=Cannot open database "database name" requested by the login. The login failed.
Description: PC shuts down due to unknown reason and when the user tries to Reopen
the project file the database does not load.

Solution: Repair corrupted SQL database with “Stellar Phoenix SQL Database Repair Tool”

10. Error: ETAP encountered an exception while trying to connect to SQL server. Please add
the following file to your ETAP directory: C:\ETAP XXXX\etapsqlenglishmodel.bak (or
etapsqlmetricmodel.bak).

Description: This error may occur when user is trying to create a new project and does not
have write access to the specified files. Please make sure these files are not Read-only or
contact your IT to provide Read/Write access to these files. Make sure your virus scan
program considers ETAP in its Safe List.

Solution: Please copy the files etapsqlenglishmodel.bak and etapsqlmetricmodel.bak


from other ETAP user to your ETAP location.

This error applies to ETAP 14 or higher versions.
