Jo eventually wades into the deep river while hallucinating and does not return, suggesting she drowned while in a delusional state.

The scene begins with Jo and Susan looking into each other’s eyes:

It is romantic. Jo and Susan love each other very much.

:12 Jo begins to hear a voice in her head. It is an evil voice that she has never heard before. It is telling
her violent things.

1:08 The voice tells Jo that she needs to kill Susan.

1:28 Jo looks as Susan and contemplates this idea for the first time. She is rather curious about the idea
of killing Susan.

1:44 Jo begins to have a vision, not of anything, but also of everything. She sees many colors and shapes.
Nothing is clear.

1:58 Jo’s vision clears – she is having a flashback to her childhood. She remembers sitting on the floor of
the living room watching her mother stand over her father’s lifeless body after murdering him.

2:08 Back to present – the evil voice is speaking again. Jo tries to fight against it. She reminds herself of
how much she loves Susan.

2:28 Jo remembers taking Susan to the pier to go on the Ferris Wheel this summer. They held hands and
laughed and said “I love you” for the first time.

2:48 Jo is jolted back to reality.

2:57 Jo hears a female voice persuading her not to kill Susan.

3:21 Jo has another flashback, this time to the first time she met Susan. Jo is reminded of how beautiful
Susan looked.

3:35 Snapped back to reality, Jo realizes that her head is pounding. She cannot focus on anything.

3:45 Susan looks at Jo and asks her if anything is wrong.

4:00 We flash back to Jo, she is still having a vision. She nods her head but is not okay.

4:13 Jo is trying to reconcile her emotions. She feels like a prisoner in her mind.

Jo is going crazy.

4:24 Flash back to present – Jo and Susan are holding hands and are walking by the river.

4:37 Jo’s visions are getting more intense. She is barely able to function

5:00 The female voice returns to Jo’s mind to tell her that she should, once again, not kill Susan. The
voice tries to tell Jo that she loves Susan

5:30 Susan’s phone rings. It is her brother.

Jo is enraged. She cannot believe that someone would call Susan at this time and distract her.

6:00 Susan declines the call and looks at Jo. Susan knows in her heart that something is seriously wrong.
She asks Jo again if everything is all right.
6:14 Everything is not okay, Jo is clearly falling apart. Her mental state is deteriorating.

6:39 Jo and Susan arrive at the riverbank.

7:04 Jo decides that she definitively wants to kill Susan. The female voice returns, this time malicious,
and suggests strangulation.

7:28 Jo gazes at Susan’s neck lovingly. It looks like a beautiful neck to strangle.

7:48 Jo looks at Susan and everything goes into slow motion. Jo decides that now is the time to kill.

8:15 Jo looks for an alternative murder weapon.

8:25 Jo strangles Susan and finishes her off with a swift blow to the head with a rock.

8:40 Jo immediately regrets what she has done. How could she have killed her beloved?

9:00 The voices Jo’s head congratulate and applaud her for a job well done.

Jo snaps to reality again – what has she done??

9:14 Jo begins to have more visions of bright colors and confusing images. She is not well.

9:35 Jo strolls down to the river to wash the blood off her hands, and she reminisces on the good times
she had with Susan.

10:02 Jo is once again jolted back to reality and is immediately filled with regret.

10:18 Jo realizes has to hide the body. She drags it around looking for a hiding place.

11:00 Jo thinks that she is being shot at but it is just another hallucination.

Jo reminisces on when her mother killed her father. The female voice is now Jo as a kid. She is talking to
her mother.

11:18 Jo remembers watching her mother dance joyfully after killing her husband.

12:00 Jo shifts back to reality and is still dragging the body. Eventually, she finds a spot to bury the body
and begins to dig a hole.

The female voice is back again in Jo’s head, this time degrading her.

12:15 Jo becomes paranoid and believes that someone watching her. She looks around frantically.

12:31 Jo fondly remembers a vacation that she once took with Susan.

13:00 Jo unravels once more and comes back to the present.

13:08 Jo cheerfully continues to dig a hole for her beloved.

13:40 Jo drags Susan’s body into the hole. She looks at Susan’s face with delight – Susan is beautiful.

14:00 Susan’s face becomes ugly as it becomes distorted with reality.

14:08 Jo becomes furious and kicks Susan’s body into the grave.
14:30 Jo begins to shovel dirt on top of Susan’s body.

15:00 The forest is quiet, it is very dark. Jo believes that someone is watching her. She looks around
frantically.

15:30 Jo hallucinates Susan by the river. She is beautiful and free, and Jo goes to her.

Susan and Jo embrace. They laugh and dance; they are joyful.

16:00 Jo is enamored by Susan. She has completely forgotten that she killed the real Susan.

16:32 Jo dances deliriously with Susan. Jo is so in love that she decides to propose. Jo’s mental state is
not good.

17:00 Jo and Susan are dancing frantically. Jo cannot see anything besides her hallucination of Susan.

17:06 Jo and Susan wander to the riverbank. Jo decides that this is the time to propose. She gets down
on one knee.

17:33 Susan runs to the river and giggles, beckoning Jo to join her.

17:44 Jo follows Susan religiously to the edge of the river. Susan begins to enter the water and glances
back for Jo to join her.

18:00 Jo wades into the water until she can no longer feel the bottom.

Jo never returns from the river.
