Ext. day: train tracks (modern day)


SCORE PLAYS
With back turned to camera human is show walking alone along
train tracks taking photos with an old canon camera
Cut to
Human sitting on swing alone with camera around neck
Camera is framed so it cuts out the human’s face
SCORE CUTS

Int. night: house


NON DIAGETIC HUM PLAYS
Shot from behind -Human is playing with Ouija board but the
planchet doesn’t move
HUMAN:
can you please show me a sign?
NON-DIEGETIC SPIKE
Ghost appears in the doorway behind but when the human looks
back nothing is there (first view of face)
The human snaps a photo
Photo is shown on screen as grainy and odd

Int. night: bathroom


NON-DIAGETIC HUM
Shot from behind
Reflected in the mirror human is brushing teeth
Ghosts’ reflection appears in mirror but when the human looks
back again nothing is there
The human walks down the hallway and is followed by a shadow
The human gets into bed
GRATING SOUND
Cut to close up of planchet moving on its own
Ext. day: house (the next day)
human goes to leave the house but looks back
cut to a view looking at the human from the hallway behind
them
human walks up the path and away from the house

int. day: school


human is asleep on desk with notes on the paranormal scattered
around
bully yanks a book out from under the humans head waking them
up
HUMAN:
Give that back
Bully flips through smirking and drops the book on the ground
Camera cuts to close up of the book on the floor with the
background out of focus

Ext. day: backyard


SOUND OF DIGGING
Black screen fades to see the human drop the book in the hole
Worms eye view with dirt being put on top of the camera as if
being buried
SOUND OF FOOTSETPS WALKING AWAY
Black screen fades out to a view of the doorstep
NON DIAGETIC HUM
The book covered in dirt is dropped on the doorstep – camera
is framed in the same way when the bully dropped the book on
the floor
SOUND OF THE DOOR OPENING
The humans hand comes into frame as they pick up the book

Ext. day: park


NON DIAGETIC HUM
Close up of a dirty hand reaching out to touch the human’s
shoulder
Human flinches back
GHOST:
I’m sorry

Ghost goes to leave but human beckons them to sit


The ghost sits down awkwardly not touching the human at all

Montage
SCORE FADES IN
Scene fades in of human reading and ghost observing curiously
Cut
Human is writing paranormal notes, and ghost is helping
correct them
cut
human is lying on park bench, headphones on, clearly upset
the words “I wish you were here” are said but drowned out by
the score
ghost appears and reaches out to touch the human catching
their attention
SCORE FADES BUT CAN STILL BE HEARD UNDER DIOLOGE
HUMAN:
You came?
GHOST:
You called
RESUME MONTAGE
SCORE VOLUME RISES
Mimicking same shot as the beginning the ghost and human walk
beside each other at the train tracks
cut
human takes a weird grainy photo of the ghost while they look
at plants

int. day: house


SCORE FADES INTO BACKGROUND STILL HEARD UNDER RUSTLING OF
PAPERS
Black screen fades into scene
human sits on bed, leaning against the wall, surrounded by
notes, ghost is cross legged on the floor, human is flicking
through notes
HUMAN:
How’d you die
Ghost gets up and sits next to the human on the bed
GHOST:
I don’t know
Ghost leans up against wall next to human both of their hands
are on the bed covers
Close up of the hands next to each other,
DIAGETIC HUM BUILDS
Their pinkys inch closer and hook together, camera stays in
focus as ghost begins to speak
GHOST:
You were the first person to see me
The human leans their head on the ghost’s shoulders
Fade to black
Ext. day: gardeners creek
SCORE SWELLS AGAIN
Ghost is messing around on rocks as human films a video of
them, laughing as they take their hand
Cut
Mid shot from behind of ghost and human walking along the
trail hand in hand
Fade in of human and ghost sitting together going through the
camera together
Ghost stands up taking the humans hand and dragging them away
from the bench
Shot focuses in on the camera left on the bench
Int. - room
Camera focuses on a close up of someone holding the camera
flicking through strange and grainy photos
The hand puts down the camera and reaches for a phone.
The bully’s face is lit by the screen with fingers typing
SOUND OF TYPING AND SENDING MESSAGE

Ext. morning: house


Human with a backpack slung over their shoulder emerges from
the door
SCORE CUTS
PHONE NOTIFICATION SOUND
They pull out their phone and look in horror
cut
dirty shot of the leaked images on the phone screen
fade to black
