Network Management System Release 14.2 Release Notes

Network Management
Wireless Manager v4.0 SP1 may be used to manage Cambium PMP networks, including managing
the RADIUS features. For additional information, see the Wireless Manager website at:
http://www.cambiumnetworks.com/products/management-tools/wireless-manager

A RADIUS dictionary file is available from the software site:

https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/pmp450/

Canopy MIB
The Cambium Enterprise MIB (Management Information Base) consists of 7 MIB definition files
and supports SNMP access to Canopy modules. The MIB files are available for download from:
https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/pmp450/
MIB files are used by Network Management Systems and Element Management Systems (such as
Wireless Manager) to support a host of surveillance, monitoring, control, and operational tasks.
If you are using an SNMP network management system (NMS) or element management system
(EMS) other than Wireless Manager: Load the MIBs per the instructions for your NMS or EMS.

Important! When loading the MIB files

1. First load the standard MIB files.
2. Then load the Radio-specific MIB files.

Some NMSs are not sensitive to order, but some require a specific loading order to build a MIB
tree. Loading in the recommended order avoids any problems arising from loading sequence.

Release 14.2 Feature Descriptions

Release 14.2 features are detailed below:

Support for 15 MHz and 30 MHz channel bandwidth

The 15 and 30 MHz channel bandwidth support is implemented in system release 14.2. It is only
supported on 450 platform (PMP/PTP 450 and 450i). It is also supported for all frequency bands
except 900 MHz.
CONFIGURATION
In AP/BHM, the 15 and 30 MHz channel bandwidth can be configured under Radio Configuration
tab of GUI Configuration Radio page.

Figure 1 Channel Bandwidth 15 and 30 MHz configuration on AP/BHM

The SM/BHS will have 15 and 30 MHz channel bandwidth selection for scan purposes in GUI
interface.

Figure 2 Channel Bandwidth 15 and 30 MHz configuration on SM/BHS

Note
The 15 and 30 MHz Channel Bandwidth are not currently supported in
DFS regions.

Note
In release 14.2, the frame calculation of Tx and Rx has been adjusted to have
more granularity. This was done in the development of 30 MHz but affects all
channel bandwidths. Due to this, please re-run your frame calculator when using
14.2 software as it may change by one symbol from prior releases. This change
will not be needed for all configurations (i.e a combination of Bandwidth, Duty
cycle, Max Range, Contention Slots) but it is recommend to check your specific
configuration by running the frame calculator on 14.2.

Support for PoE Classification

The support for IEEE 802.3at Type 2 PoE (Power over Ethernet) Classification is implemented in
system release 14.2. This is supported only on 450i series devices. When the PoE Classification
functionality is enabled and if Type 2 power is not present, the PAs do not power up and draw too
much power.
By default, the PoE Classification feature is disabled and the PAs will power up regardless of the
classification presented by the power source.
