suspects were killed in separate incidents in Metro Manila. In Caloocan City, four persons allegedly
involved in illegal drugs were shot dead. The names of the victims were Alfredo Beron; Japhet Dizon
Bacaltos, 37; Jose Andrew Tesoro, 30; and Ricardo Dugayo Jr., 49. They were killed in separate shooting
incidents in Barangays 176, 179, 180 and Urduja Village. Probers are looking into the killings believed to

guilty to graft and malversation charges filed against him before the Sandiganbayan over the alegedly
overpriced Makati car park building. Binay appeared before the anti-graft court’s Third Division for his
conditional arraignment. He agreed to the arraignment so the court could assume jurisdiction over him in
considering his petition to travel abroad. Binay asked the Sandiganbayan to allow him to leave the country

Reporter 6: Petron Corp. posted a P5.3-billion profit in the first half of 2016 on strong sales, improved
production from its refinery and cost efficiencies. The oil company’s income from January to June was a
55-percent improvement from P3.4 billion a year earlier. Petron attributed the strong performance to a surge
in sales volumes, supported by its aggressive network expansion, improved production and cost
efficiencies. Consolidated sales volumes in the Philippines and Malaysia jumped nine percent from 47.4
million barrels sold in the first half of 2015 to 51.8 million barrels in the same period this year as the
company saw robust growth across its major businesses, namely retail, industrial, liquefied petroleum gas

Reporter 7: President Duterte has cancelled his visit to Camp Tecson in Bulacan for the second time due
to the weather. The president was scheduled to arrive at the camp at 2 p.m., but palace staff informed
reporters that his trip would not push through. He was unable to fly to the area because of zero visibility.
Metro Manila and nearby Luzon provinces have been experiencing heavy rains in the past few days. This
is the second time Duterte had to scrap his visit to the Bulacan military camp. He was supposed to visit it
on July 26 after his trip to Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija. But his Nueva Ecija visit lasted until late in
the afternoon, leaving him with no time to fly to Bulacan. Duterte had been going around military camps
in the previous weeks, assuring soldiers that he would give them what they need and enlisting their
support in his plans for the government.
