1)MAGOPANE HILL SCHOOL

SCHOOL GROUNDS

- There are no goal posts for both football and netball grounds.
- The netball ground is too small.

RELATIONSHIP WITH S& CD OFFICE

The deputy head explained that they have a good stakeholder collaboration with Social and
community Development Department office and that the office attend to social issues of students
reported to them. The school has records of Orphans and Needy Students registered with S& CD
office.

SUMMARY

- School walls and floors/tiles are in good condition.


- A total of 2 doors required.
- A total of 6 door locks need to be procured.
- A total of 2 door handles are required.
- A total of 2 window panes are required.
- A total of 8 window handle is required.
- A total of 47 window stays are required.
- A total of 2 bulbs are required.
- An electric cable needs to be mounted to the wall in standard 1C classroom.
- The school head and all teachers have no decent furniture.
- A total of 28 student tables need to be repaired.
- A total of 51 student chairs need to be repaired.
- 5 Black board are not in good condition , however dusters are not available.
- 3 fans need repair.

RECOMMENDATIONS

- The school head and teachers should be provided with new comfortable furniture as the
ones they are using currently is old and not comfortable (poor quality).
- There should be procurement of curtains for the staff room as the current ones are tattered.
- There should be procurement of dust bins for each classroom in the school as currently they
are not available.
- The current use of black boards should be faced out and be replaced by the use of Smart
boards.
- There should be installation of air conditioners in all class rooms and fans faced out.
- There should be installation of geyser in the school kitchen.
- The kitchen staff should be provided with protective clothing.
- Shortage of food at school is a pressing issue and should be urgently attended to.
- The toilets at the school should be urgently attended so that they are user friendly to all the
students.
Goal posts at the school grounds should be installed.
2)KETSHWEREBOTHATA PRIMARY SCHOOL

SCHOOL TOILETS

- There are 8 blocks of old toilets and they are no longer in use.
- There is also 1 new block of toilets divided twice for both boys and girls and they are also
not in use and they are locked.

RELATIONSHIP WITH S&CD OFFICE

There is less relationship between the school and the S&CD office mainly due to improper channels
of communication and referrals of clients. The school keep data base of Needy Students and
Orphans.

SUMMARY

- 1 classroom needs maintenance of ceiling and cornice.


- 1 class room needs painting on the inside.
- 3 doors required for installation.
- 3 locks required for installation.
- All the class rooms require window stays.
- 10 lights need to be installed.
- 3 electric switches required
- 4 electric sockets required.
- 46 tables need to be repaired.
- 8 new chairs required.

RECOMMENDATIONS

- The whole school in general needs a major maintenance work especially in class rooms.
- The school head and teachers should be provided with new comfortable furniture as the
ones they are using currently is old and not comfortable (poor quality).
- There should be procurement of dust bins for each classroom in the school as currently they
are not available.
- The current use of black boards should be faced out and be replaced by the use of Smart
boards.
- There should be installation of air conditioners in all class rooms and fans faced out.
- Shortage of food at school is a pressing issue and should be urgently attended to.
- The toilets at the school are in a sorry state and should be urgently attended to.
- The School and S& CD office should work on improving their working relationship for better
service of client. The school should make invitations well in time to the S&CD office so they
can prepare their presentations well in time. Proper channels of communication should also
be followed.
