NARRATIVE REPORT

Division Learning Action Cell (DLAC)

A mathematician named Stan Gudder once said that, “The

essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated
but to make complicated things simple.” This adage is certainly
true. Others think that math is a mental abuse to humans but the
reality is, it is merely the etherealization of common sense. We
should apply the four fundamentals and associate basic concepts
in our daily lives. Because math is not a problem to be solved. It
is a number to be enjoyed.

Last July 25- September 10, the Division of Mandaluyong

headed by the very competent Education Program Supervisor in
Math, Mr. Restituto I. Rodelas, conducted a 5-day Seminar known
as the Division Learning Action Cell (DLAC) which aims to upturn
learning of the Grade 4-6 teachers. This activity is a great help to
teachers because they could adopt different teaching pedagogies
and styles which could be used in their respective learning
environment. It was attended by passionate and dedicated Math
teachers of different schools and facilitated by the great
mathematicians of the division. The ever-active and enthusiastic
District II Math Coordinator, Mrs. Maritess S. Patacsil ensured the
flow of the said activity to avoid chaos and disorganization.
