How To Calculate School Mooe

This document outlines a formula called the Boncodin Formula used by DepEd to calculate the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) allocation for schools. The formula considers both fixed costs and variable costs. Fixed costs are set amounts that do not depend on school size, such as P117,600 for elementary schools. Variable costs depend on factors like enrollment numbers, number of teachers, classrooms, and graduating students. An example calculation is shown for an elementary school with 125 students, 10 teachers, 7 classrooms, and 35 graduating students, yielding a total MOOE of P236,055.

Policy Tidbits:

How to know the MOOE of your school if your school head is not disclosing it. Ganito po.
number of classrooms at number of graduating learners:
Formula:
MOOE = FC+VC (EN+CL+TH+GR)
Where: FC - fixed cost
VC - variable cost
FIXED COST - ito ay amount na matatanggap ng school regardless of size.
For Elem - 117,600
For JHS - 172,800
For SHS - 172,800
Ibig sabihin, kahit gaano kaliit o kalaki ang paaralan, meron matatanggap na ganyan.
VARIABLE COST. Ito ay depende na sa size ng school. Kasama d2 ang enrolment, number
of teachers, number of classrooms and number of graduating learners.
Enrolment
Elem - 250
JHS - 480
SHS - 1,833
Number of Teachers
Elem - 5,000
JHS - 9,600
Number of Classrooms
Elem - 3,750
JHS - 7,200
Graduation
Elem - 313
JHS - 300
Lets try to Compute:
Elementary School A
Enrolment - 125
Number of teachers - 10
Number of classrooms - 7
Number of graduating students - 35
Fixed Cost - 117,600
Enrolment (125x250) - 31,250
Teachers - (10x5,000) - 50,000
Classrooms (7x3,750) - 26,250
Graduating (35x313) - 10,955
TOTAL - P236,055.00
Try nyo po.
