EZ Det Delay Patterns: Construction Blasting

1) The document discusses practical blasting programs using EZ Det delay detonators, including hooking them up, initiating shots, and common blasting patterns like staggered drilling, trench blasting, corner pull shots, center opening shots, and zigzag patterns. 2) EZ Dets can be initiated using electric caps or shock tubes and connected using EZ Det connectors or trunklines to precisely time multiple rows of holes. 3) Examples show using different delay times between holes and rows, from 8ms up to 84ms, to control rock movement and reduce vibration in construction blasting applications.

Shot Initiation

Tape an electric cap to the shock tube so that it shoots the tube in both directions,
down-the-hole and towards the next EZ Det connector.
Bury the electric to prevent shrapnel damage to the shock tube.

Shots can also be initiated with an EZ Det “tail”

or an EZTL, spliced into Noiseless Trunkline!
