CORRECTION CODE FOR WRITING EXERCISES

The following are the codes to be used to correct WRITING EXERCISES in this course.
CORRECTION CODE SYMBOLS MEANING
ww Wrong word
w/ph Wrong phrase
^ Word missing
sp Spelling
p/s Plural or singular
vc Verb conjugation
gt Grammatical tense
p Punctuation
ss Sentence structure
/ Separate the word or idea
// Separate the sentence and begin a new one.
/// Separate the paragraph and begin a new one.
\ Delete the Word or phrase
c/lw Capital or lowercase letter

1. Read the sentences and make the corrections. You can see the kind of mistake there is in each
sentence.
w.w. : wrong word I study a career in Electronics.

: wrong order He is a man attractive.

s.p. : spelling My appartment is really big.

g.t. : gramatical tense I am driving to Salinas yesterday.

s.s.: sentence structure I am collecting money for buy a present for Paul.
I haven’t money.
^: Word missing

?: makes no sense / not There are many people working while working for

Mobile phones is very importance to many people now usually people need them for comunicate

with their family throughout the day. Using Whatsapp and Facebook they can be in contact with their

relatives and friends. Some people used them to work. They close deals and manage personnel.

Finally some people use it them to have fun. To watch movies and reading book in their spare time

can be very convenient since mobile phones are getting a lot more memory now. Mobile phones

absolutely necessary to keep in contact with everyone who is part of our lives, and also help us have

fun in this world busy we live in.

Think and write: what kind of mistakes are you more likely to make? How can you correct or avoid
those mistakes?
