Process strategy is transforming resources into goods and services.

The objectives
is to build a production that meets customer requirements and product specification
within cost and other managerial constraints. The process selected will have a long
term effect on efficiency and flexibility of production as well as on cost and quality of
the products.

There are four process strategies which is process focus, repetitive focus, product
focus and mass customization. In our company, we choose Mass Customization Focus
(made-to-order or built-to-order). This is a manufacturing technique that combines the
flexibility and personalization of custom made with mass production. It focus on large
quantities and large variety of products. By using this strategies, the production can
enjoy the flexibility of process focus and gain an efficiency of the product focus
strategy. In other word, this strategy combines both process and product focus
strategies.

Hence, mass customization is used to produce the customized products in large


quantities. For example, clothing, footwear, household furnishing, toys, vehicles and
electrical and electronics devices. So, it is very suitable for us to use in our company
since we produce fitness shoes. Next, customer also can customize with specifically
their time of purchase and what they want from the product.

Furthermore, process analysis and design that we use as a tools that help
company to understand the complexity of process design or redesign. It is also help
company to analyze and examine the process that related to operation management
issues such as throughput, cost and quality.

The tools are flowchart, time-function mapping, process charts, value-stream


mapping and service blue printing. The tools that we use is flowchart, time-function
mapping and service blueprinting. First, flowchart. This is a graphical representation of
a process. Each step is represented by a different symbol and contains a short
description. The symbols are linked together with arrows showing the process flow
direction. For example;
Flowchart helps to clarify how things are currently working and how they could be
improved. It is also assists in analyze the key elements of a process and it’s
relationship.

Next, service blueprinting. This is a technique that focuses on the customer and
the provider’s interaction with the customer. It is used for developing new innovative
services and improving existing services. The method is appropriate for ensuring the
quality of service processes. Hence, it is also allows for visualization of the service
development process in its early stages. In each process step, contact points between
client and firm (physical element, if tangible service) become visible. This technique
also can help to identify failure points and discover areas for innovation. It is also
eases the identification of cost saving potentials and offers an excellent base for
further service-process management. For example;
Last but not least, production technology. This is applied in production in order to
improve employee safety, product quality and productivity. There are seven of them
which is machine technology, automatic identification system (AISs) and RFID,
process control, vision systems, robots, automated storage and retrieval system
(ASRSs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). technology that we use in our
company is first, automatic identification system (AISs) and RFID. The automatic
identification system (AISs) is an automatic tracking system that uses transponders on
ships and is used by vessel traffic services. When satellites are used to detect AIS
signatures, the term Satellite-AIS is used.
